One gamer making their way through the Nine Realms ofGod of War Ragnarokdiscovered that Kratos apparently counts wall hacks among his list of mystical abilities, sharing a clip of the game’s brusque, bald protagonist clipping through a wall thanks to an unexpected bug. Despite the remarkably high level of polish present throughout the Sony Santa Monica Studio release, some bugs still managed to slip through the cracks, including a hilarious glitch recently shared by another player that showsKratos refusing to die.
The sequel to 2018’sGod of War, a reimagining of the franchise that saw Kratos’ tale take on a far more grounded and serious tone than previous entries,God of War Ragnarokhas been a massive critical and commercial success for Santa Monica Studio. Picking up three years after the events of the previous game,God of War Ragnaroksees Kratos and his son Atreus once again battling their way across the Nine Realms of Norse mythology in a sprawling, action-heavy campaign. In what may be an attempt to avoid the same sort of multi-year wait that gamers were made to endure between theGod of Warseries’ most recent releases, new job listings at the developer indicate thatSanta Monica Studio is hiring forGod of War Ragnarok’s sequelalready.

Redditor Brilliant-Quit-9254 shared a short clip on the r/GodofWar subreddit showing Kratos seemingly discovering the ability to phase through solid matter thanks to a glitch. In the post, jokingly titled “Kratos has unlocked a new ability: Wall Hack,” a video shows Kratos making his way throughGod of War Ragnarok’s grim and gloomy realm of Helheim when an icon for them to interact with an object appears on the other side of the wall. After hitting the button prompt, Kratos proceeds to simply walk through the wall thanks to the unusual glitch before coming to a comfortable landing on the other side.
Replies to the post were filled with Redditors amused byKratos’ new trick, with one user questioning whether the unusual glitch could be used to aid speedrunners in the future. In an indication this unusual glitch may be widespread throughoutGod of War Ragnarokrather than simply being limited to Helheim, two users stated that they’d encountered a similar bug in the game’s Muselheim area. Other Redditors wondered whether the release of the New Game+ patch forGod of War Ragnarokhad introduced the strange clipping glitch to the game, with some respondents stating that they’d encountered an increased number of bugs in the title since the patch’s release.
Unlike some of the other, more frustrating glitches players have found inGod of War Ragnarok, thankfully all this unusual bug did is save Brilliant-Quit-9254 a little bit of a walk. It also makes for a far better outcome than for the player who recently shared a clip ofKratos falling into an endless abyssafter similarly clipping through a level.
God of War Ragnarokis available now on PS4 and PS5.
