Now,Gundam Evolutiondoes already have 19+ different Mobile Suit Units to choose from. But, there are still so many potential fan favorites (each with theirown share of easter eggsand homages) that would make for great new additions to the lineup.

Updated Jul 25, 2025 by Jacob Buchalter:Since the initial release of Gundam Evolution on September 20th, 2022, the developers have proved they plan to support the game for a long while with constant balance changes, fixes, and new content. For example, in the time between the original publication of this list and this update, 2 new Units have been added, massive changes to existing units have taken place, and the devs have attempted to adjust some of the biggest complaints from the player base. So, it seems like this title may have some legs to it, and with that in mind let’s take another look through the absurdly long list of well-known Gundams out there and pick some more that would be great additions to the game.

Qubeley Using Funnels To Attack In Official Art

14AMX-004 Qubeley: Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam

Now onto a bit of a unique inclusion, the AMX-004 Quebely from theMobile Suit Zeta Gundamseries. This suit is most notably used by Haman Karn, one of the major antagonists of this series as well asMobile Suit Gundam ZZ. Now, if it was added as a Zeon-built Unit inGundam Evolution, the Qubeley would be very visually distinct from all the other playable Units currently.

Plus, because of the Funnel container that it has on its back, the Qubeley could be a unique mix of both melee and range (though there are alreadyenough powerful melee units between Barbatos and Zaku). It would use the Beam Saber up close with the Funnels as a ranged option and potentially even a Funnel “deploy zone” where it could set them up to defend an area similar to Methuss' Gun Turret or Sazabi’s very own Funnels G-Maneuver.

13FA-78 Full Armor Gundam: Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt

It’s surprising that there haven’t been anyThunderboltGundam inclusions inGundam Evolutionyet, considering how popular this relatively modern addition (though not as modern asGundam: The Witch from Mercury) to the franchise was. Well, if anything from that series were to be added as a character in the game, the FA-78 Full Armor Gundam would be one that fans would ask for the most.

Not only does this Gundam have another variation in theclassic belovedMobile Suit Gundamshow, but the one seen inMobile Suit Gundam Thunderboltis also such a perfect blend ofclassic and modern mecha design aesthetics. The FA-78 has all the visual elements that fans can easily identify as a ‘Gundam’ while also including more modern aspects like the sub-arms and the backpack.

Gundam Evolution - Gouf Custom Launching Heat Wire

As a character, the Full Armor Gundam would basically be a rotating armory. Each of its attacks would specifically use one weapon, such as its Beam Saber, Twin-Beam Rifle, Large Beam Cannon, any of the Missiles it has ready in different pockets of its body, the Missile Pod on its backpack, or even its shields.

12MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom: Mobile Suit Gundam - The 08th MS Team

This next Gundam is one of the ones fans have been constantly asking for since the game came out, but is one that doesn’t even make sense to add, at least from a gameplay standpoint.Gundam Evolutionalready has two Zaku-type Power Suits in it, and it doesn’t need another one that’s slightly different just because it’s a fan favorite. Yes, the Heat Wire this suit is known for would make for an interesting new weapon/ability, but that isn’t enough to justify putting it in as a separate character rather than a skin for either of the MS-06 Zakus.

Still, if it was added into the game, they could really do a lot with its animations to push the whole ‘brutal’ side of this Custom Suit that it’s known for. Not only is the Heat Wire a terrifying stun-type weapon to use against someone, but the Gatling Shield and Heat Knuckle (only seen on Captain Boldbayar’s model) are also weapons that feel a lot more malicious to use against others compared to basic guns or throwing abilities.

Gundam Evolution - Gundam Physalis On Toy Box And PNG On Top

11RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis: Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 - Stardust Memory

Probably one of the bulkiest Gundam addition suggestions on here, the RX-78GP02A Gundam, otherwise known as the “Physalis”, basically looks like a standard most iconic, and ‘most popular’ classic Gundam design, just with bigger feet and a gigantic jetpack. But, despite how it looks, that’s actually the MLRS or Multiple Launch Rocket System on its back.

Basically, this Gundam is a mobile mortar barrage, and that would be interesting to see integrated intoGundam Evolution. There are already characters that pepper the area immediately in front of them such as the Guntank (who stillhas the best Stamp in the game, overall), but this would be area denial at a distance. Players would have to be very aware of where their opponents are on the map and where they want to go, and would then be able to lay down a barrage of missiles that could punish them for being too predictable. Up close the Physalis could be incredibly weak as sort of an exchange, but either way, it would be an interesting choice to include.

10RX-77-2 Guncannon: Mobile Suit Gundam & Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt

And for anotherMobile Suit Gundam Thunderboltinclusion, what about the Guncannons? For those unaware, the RX-77-2 Guncannon Units are a mass-produced model that excels at mid-long range support using their shoulder-mounted artillery. Not only do they have a unique look compared to a lot of other characters on this list, but their close and long-range missile barrage options could make for an interesting playstyle.

And, because there is a version of this Unit in bothMobile Suit GundamandThunderbolt, the developers at the Bandai Namco could experiment with making recolors and skins for both the original and Thunderbolt ‘versions’ of this character, instead of separating them into two separate playable characters.

9GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam: Mobile Fighter G Gundam

The GF13-017NJ or Shining Gundam fromMobile Fighter G Gundamis near the peak of all easily-recognizable Gundam Units. Although the developers would likely have to decide if they were going to add Shining Gundam or God Gundam, as both essentially serve the same purpose, one is just an even more bombastic version of the other. Maybe they could do both, but have one of these Mobile Suits be extra-costly to unlock.

That said, Shining Gundam would have some more unique mechanics they could mess with for its movesets, such as giving it a Mode-change system in which Shining Gundam would switch between its different powered-up forms starting at Normal then going to Battle, then Super, before finally ending at True Super.

8GF13-017NJII God Gundam: Mobile Fighter G Gundam

By far one of the more highly requested Mobile Fighters to be added into Evolution, the GF13-017NJII aka the “God Gundam” is the next evolution of the Shining Gundam. It’s the primary Gundam used inMobile Fighter G Gundam, and it’s one of the most overpowered suits across the entire franchise.

And, because it’s been seen fighting in multiple shows, games, and comics, there are tons of techniques it has shown off that it could use for its moveset. Although, the only move that needs to be a guaranteed part of its kit is using God Finger. They could even do a God Finger into Heat End attack for its G-Maneuver as a sort of ‘command-grab’ instant kill.

7MA-08 Big Zam: Mobile Suit Gundam

This next idea is absolutely the one that’s suggested the most as a “joke”, but Big Zam would be a fascinating character to add. Big Zam is one of the most popular Mobile Armor Units the franchise has ever created, and it originated way back in the firstMobile Suit Gundamanime.

This thing is 60 meters tall, weighs over 1000 tons, and has a gigantic Mega-Particle Gun in its center that’s capable of blasting through just about anything. But, let’s be realistic, as a character choice Big Zam is pretty unrealistic. The only way it could actually work is if they put Zam in a mode where players capture objectives to push their own gigantic mech in the background of the stage forward to fight the other team’s giant mech, and one side would be Big Zam, or something similar. Having it be ‘just another Unit on the field’ would make almost no sense, and players would likely have to radicallychange their settings and sensitivitybetween playing as Big Zam and playing as another Mobile Unit.

6RB-79 Ball: Mobile Suit Gundam

Speaking of the originalMobile Suit Gundamseries, another interesting inclusion they could add from it is the RB-79 Ball pods that are essentially Space Pods refitted into makeshift mobile armors. To put it bluntly, the RB-79s could be another type of Support character. It could work as a low Capital-costing character that’s meant to be a highly-mobile, very squishy, and low-damage with only a Recoil Cannon to protect itself with.

But, in exchange, they could use their construction-based function to repair other players' suits, forcing the little Haro healing stations (which people aren’t using nearly enough) to respawn faster, and so on. And, if Bandai Namco wanted to get really silly, they could even use the B Gundam introduced inMobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Skull Heartand have it charge forward using its X-78-2 Gundam homage faceplate for its G-Maneuver. Fans have made jokes about adding Haro into the game since it first came out (despite Haro being something like 1/1000th the size of a Gundam), and this is probably the closest they’d ever get to it actually happening.

5XXXG-01H Gundam Heavyarms: Mobile Suit Gundam Wing

The XXXG-01H Heavyarms is another one of the more commonly requested character additions forGundam Evolution, and it should be visually obvious as to why. This thing is a one-mech-army when it comes to firepower, as it’s packed full of Gatling Guns, Missile Launchers, Beam Weapons, and even a Vulcan Gun stored in the head.

Obviously, it would use its Beam Gatling as the primary. And, for the G-Maneuver, Namco could either have the mech self-destruct similar toOverwatch’sD.Va or they could have it unleash all of its firepower at once in one gigantic barrage of destruction. This would turn the Heavyarms into the perfect mech for attacking a Capture Point, though let’s be honest, it’s not like people ever focus enough on the objectives anyway.
