A lot of the finer details regardingHalo Infinitewere recently revealed during the Xbox showcase event. New information regarding the story campaign, gameplay, and multiplayer ofHalo Infinitewas shown off for fans to see. However, one detail that may have slipped through the cracks is thatHalo Infinitewill include a mode intended to help newer players.
Since the release ofHalo: Combat Evolvedon the original Xbox, multiplayer has been an integral part of theHaloseries. To this day, there are players that are extremely experienced with the ins and outs ofHalo’smultiplayer, which can make newcomers to the series hesitant to jump head first into the multiplayer. Luckily,Halo Infinitefeatures a mode that’s specifically designed to train players who are unfamiliar withHalo’sintense multiplayer.

The new Academy mode serves as a hub for players to practice with different weapons, learn ‘slore, and perhaps the most exciting addition, the ability to set up bot matches so that new players can practice in a multiplayer environment. This is the firstHalogame to feature anything like this and in many ways, it makes sense to have a training mode inHalo Infinite.
For the longest time,Halo Infinitehas served as the flagship title for theXbox Series Xand is one of the most highly anticipated games releasing for the system. A lot of players will likely buy a Series X/S just to playHalo Infinite, which will potentially include a lot of newcomers. Thus, having a mode dedicated specifically to practicing the basics ofHalomultiplayer is quite ingenious.
Not to mention that the multiplayer ofHalois significantly different from the single-player campaigns. While they both share the same gameplay elements,Halomultiplayeris a lot more multifaceted, due to the confinement of the maps, the variance in gameplay modes, the ability to customize what weapons and vehicles spawn on the map, and many other mechanics. This means that new players will have to adapt to various different gameplay scenarios, unlike the single-player campaigns, which largely consists of eliminating enemies and then moving on to the next area of the level.
In any case, it will be interesting to see what else343 Industrieshas in store in terms ofHalo Infinite. A lot was shown off during the showcase and while a release date wasn’t revealed during the event, the game is still confirmed to release in 2021. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that there’s a lot more content that has yet to be unveiled.
Halo Infiniteis scheduled to launch this holiday season for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
