Actor Harvey Guillén has officially been cast as Nightwing on the next season of theHarley Quinnanimated series.
TheHarley Quinnanimated series on HBO Max follows the titular character (voiced by Kaley Cuoco) as she seeks to distance herself from her one-time boyfriend and partner in crime, the Joker (Alan Tudyk). The series features Harley teaming up with a ragtag team ofDC supervillains including Poison Ivy(Lake Bell), King Shark (Ron Funches), Clayface (Tudyk), and Dr. Psycho (Tony Hale).

Guillén is best known for his role as vampire familiar turned slayer Guillermo on all three seasons of the FX comedy seriesWhat We Do In The Shadows. It was also recently reported that the young actor was cast in an undisclosed role in the upcoming live-actionBlue Beetlemoviefrom DC and Warner Bros. He is also set to voice a character in the DreamWorks animated sequelPuss In Boots: The Last Wish.With his comedic experience and reputation for playing well-meaning characters, Guillén should fit right into the role of Nightwing. Deadline broke the news of Guillén joining the cast ofHarley Quinn.
The animated series is known for its dark humor, R-rated violence, and talented voice cast. Other notable actors featured in the series includeCommunitystar Jim Rash, who voices Batman villain the Riddler. Batman himself is voiced by actor Diedrich Bader and Superman villain Lex Luthor is voiced byBetter Call Saulactor Giancarlo Esposito. It was also recently announced thatGuardians of the Galaxydirector James Gunn would be playing himself in the third season.
Nightwingis the superhero alter-ego of Dick Grayson, who is also known as the first character to take up the mantle of Batman’s sidekick, Robin. In the comics,Grayson took on the name Nightwingafter he grows up and distances himself from his one-time mentor. He is frequently depicted wearing his signature blue and black costume and often uses a pair of blue batons and other melee weapons to fight crime in the fictional city of Blüdhaven.
The first two seasons ofHarley Quinnpremiered on DC Universe, but after it was announced in 2020 that the service was moving away from scripted content, the series was moved to HBO Max.
