Players can earn up to 3000 Stellar Jades and about 300K Credits for a complete Forgotten Hall run. This might be an endgame activity, but that doesn’t mean the first handful of floors can’t be conquered early. Here are some pointers on how to find success in the first half ofHonkai Star Rail’sForgotten Hall.

How to Build Forgotten Hall Team Compositions

As with all gacha games, mileage will vary depending on a player’s luck. Some may have access to characters that others do not. Thankfully, the power difference between4-star and 5-star charactersinHonkai Star Railisn’t too extreme, which means anyone can build and use whoever appears in their character banner pulls.

The very early Forgotten Hall floors are relatively easy. However, in order to get complete every star challenge, players need to make a team that can survive and inflict enough damage to defeat enemies within the specified number of turn cycles. Always check the floor’s active modifiers and build a team around it and the enemies present since Forgotten Hall challenges may change with every major patch.

An early Forgotten Hall team for Honkai Star Rail

After taking elemental weaknesses and modifiers into consideration, attempt to have a team comprised of either of the following:

The reasoning behind these very specific roles is thatHonkai Star Rail’srosteris still lacking. As of the launch version, There are onlytwo F2P-friendly tanksandone free healer. More characters will eventually be added to the game but even so, players are unlikely to get the characters they need without constantly rolling for them. This issue becomes especially problematic on Forgotten Hall floors that require two teams later on.

Roster issues aside, the first team comp revolves around the two tanks constantly protecting the team while the DPS and Support units handle all their damage-dealing needs. An example of this would beFire Trailblazer, March 7th, Dan Heng, andTingyun. Dan Heng with buffs from Tingyun will be the one dealing the brunt of the team’s damage while the others juggle shielding and Skill Point generation. Trailblazer also makes for a good secondary attacker.

As for the second team, a lineup likeFire Trailblazer, Natasha, Dan Heng, and an element-appropriate secondaryDPSorSupportunit (Asta, Hook, Physical Trailblazer, etc.) can handle much of the early Forgotten Hall floors with no issues with survivability or damage output.

Five-star characters aren’t essential inHonkai Star Rail, but they will make encounters easier since they practically serve as upgrades to 4-star units. Feel free to swap between characters who have similar roles in a team, such asGepardandMarch 7th,BronyaandTingyun, andDan HengandSeele.

It’s worth emphasizing how usefulFire Trailblazeris in the Forgotten Hall. They can absorb and deal damage reliably at the cost of having no innate healing and low base SPD. Meanwhile,Servalcan fill in for either the DPS or flex pick slots in case the team needs a strong AOE Lightning character.

Pelaalso deserves a special mention. She deals decent Ice damage and, more importantly, she can dispel active buffs from enemies, making her invaluable againstboss fights. Players can use Pela and March 7th together to control the flow of buffs and debuffs, assuming that they have thePurifytrace unlocked for the latter.

Lastly, always make sureto have upgraded Relicsand Light Cones before entering the Forgotten Hall. Every stat matters if players want to beat a floor with more than 14 turn cycles remaining. Relics can be farmed in Cavern of Corrosion nodes while Light Cones can be obtained through gacha banners, quests, and NPC vendors.

Honkai Star Railis available now on PC, iOS, and Android. A PlayStation version is coming soon.
