Before the days of digital downloads, it was pretty common for players to pre-order their games just to ensure that they got a copy on launch day. Nowadays, however, players don’t really have to worry about a game selling out, especially if they plan onbuying through a digital storefrontrather than a brick-and-mortar store. Of course, that’s not to say that there aren’t still one or two big advantages to pre-ordering a game likeFinal Fantasy 16.

For starters, those who pre-ordered the game were able to download it in advance, allowing them to begin playing at midnight on the dot. To sweeten the deal, the developers also included several pre-order bonuses; these being the Braveheart, the Cait Sith Charm, and the Scholar’s Spectacles. Players won’t have access to these items right away though, leading many to wonder how to redeem pre-order bonuses inFinal Fantasy 16.
How to Claim Final Fantasy 16 Pre-Order Bonuses
Before anything else, those who pre-ordered a physical edition ofFinal Fantasy 16will need to redeem the code or codes provided to them by the retailer. These may be sent to them via email or come written on a piece of paper inside the game’s box. Once they have their code, players will need to head to the PlayStation store, choose the “Redeem Code” option, and type the code in. Anyone who pre-ordered one ofthe two digital editions ofFinal Fantasy 16can skip this step.
From here, starting up the game will lead to a prompt appearing on the screen letting players know thatFinal Fantasy 16pre-order bonuses can only be claimed once players have reached the “A Chance Encounter” main story mission. Anybody who’s alreadycompleted theFinal Fantasy 16demowill already have reached this point, but those who haven’t can expect to get there inaround two hours of playtime. Once they’re at the right point in the story, another prompt will appear letting them know that their items are now ready to be redeemed.
After this second prompt, players will be able to claim theirFinal Fantasy 16pre-order bonusesby opening up the main menu and scrolling to the “System” tab using either the L2 or R2 button. Once there, they should use L1 or R1 to cycle to the “Redeemable Items” submenu, where they should see all of their pre-order bonuses just waiting to be redeemed. From here, it’s a simple case of highlighting each item and then pressing the X button twice to claim it.
