Summary

Microsoft has seemingly administered new changes to its Rewards program that will potentially make it more difficult for fans to rack up as many points as before. AsMicrosoftworks toward implementing a different rewards hub for December 2023, it continues to make changes to its already existing program.

Microsoft Rewards allows its users to earn points to unlock a variety of rewards, including gift cards for several different businesses, donations to a number of charities, sweepstakes entries, and more. Just recently, an Xbox user in Brazil shared a screenshot of a message fromMicrosoft detailing the new Rewards hub. While Xbox players may need to look for more methods to earn points, browser users will now need to make adjustments when it comes to Edge.

US and UK Microsoft Rewards users have reported a change in the Daily Search Breakdown for Microsoft Edge where the goal to use the browser has been removed. Before, Edge users could attain 12 points for merely using the browser. This would add to the other daily search goals that involve using the Bing search engine on mobile and PC devices. PC searches can accumulate up to 90 points while mobile searches can total up to 60. This would bring the acquisition to 150 points daily, though this seems to be the limit as of now when disregarding the Edge browser goal.

The Daily Search Breakdown for Microsoft Rewards users isn’t the only arm of the program to have received some adjustments. Just earlier this month, theGame Pass daily quests were downgraded, and the service continues to offer its users fewer goals.

Upon inspecting the Microsoft Rewards dashboard and accessing the “Points breakdown” section, there are indeed only two remaining goals in the Daily Search Breakdown. It’s supplemented by other ways to earn points, such as completing daily offers, finding ways to shop and earn, andplaying games on Xbox consoles and Game Passvia the Rewards app. While this may be a slight change in the program, nothing else seems to have been removed.

At the time of writing, Microsoft hasn’t announced any official changes to the Rewards program. While it’s speculated that Xbox players will experience a new hub for earning rewards, only time will tell what further adjustments will be made.Game Pass ownersmay need to look into additional ways to earn points while Microsoft continues to make adjustments such as the one in question. There’s no telling what other features will be affected.
