With new technology in the console, many have begun speculating about how much the PS5 will cost, and a leaked survey seems to shed light on its price.
There has been plenty ofspeculation about the price of the PlayStation 5and many fans have prepared themselves to pay more for the step forward in terms of technology. Yet some players have expressed disappointment at spending a possible $499 when previous PlayStation consoles have been cheaper. While it has not been confirmed a deleted post on Reddit seems to deliver good news for fans who are hoping to get the console at a cheaper price point.

Reddit user youessbee posted information from a Nielsen survey which asked about whether the features of consoles justify the cost. The survey went on to ask its audience whether they would be comfortable with spending $435 on a PlayStation 5 with a disc tray and $323 on the digital edition. While many players will have anticipated that the digital edition would be cheaper, it seems to be a considerable difference that may sway consumers. However, some players may be cautious of going for a purely digital console because of memory concerns as well as the ability to get heavily discounted games cheaply. With that in mind, a significantly cheaper digitalPlayStation 5does seem to make sense as it will off-set the cost of games.
The console as a whole is cheaper than what has been rumored and many players will hope that they can save $64 on the predicted price. Furthermore, there had been claims that the console could cost up to $700 so this could be a lot cheaper than some were expecting. With that said, this survey seemed to be focused on sentiment and the fact that a question gave a price does not mean that it will be the final cost to the consumer. Players will now have to wait forSony to list the price of the PlayStation 5officially.
The post has now been taken down and for some, this will add legitimacy to the pricing, while others will eagerly await the official announcement from Sony. Withhigh praise being directed at the next generation of consoles, it will be interesting to see if the platforms can live up to expectations and do so at a reasonable price.
