In the developer diary video, Head of Game Jonathan Smith shared that the team was pushed to do more because of the opportunity to tell thestory of all nineStar Warsfilms. In constant talks with both LEGO and Lucasfilm, the devs were given access to resources in order to accurately transfer elements onto the actual game. According to Neil Crofts, Head of Character Art, the team would take a look at both existing LEGO kits and the films in order to make creatures like the Bantha true to both IPs. Though some of the creatures have not existed yet as LEGO kits, the designers made sure they used real LEGO pieces to make them look as close to reality as possible.

So much work to balance both LEGO and Star Wars IPs has been put intoLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. This includes making sure that each setting and area, whether it be a spaceship hangar or the jungles of a planet will look much like their movie versions but made entirely out of LEGO bricks. The devs have also upgraded various gameplay features such as the use ofThe Force by both Jedi and the Sith, as well as shifting to a third-person perspective.
