DONTNOD Entertainmenthas built a reputation for its wildly unique and intellectual titles over the past several years off the success of its narrative-driven games. The Paris-based development studio has often worked with some of the biggest publishers in the gaming industry, partnering withSquare-Enix for theLife is Strangefranchiseand working with Xbox Game Studios on the Xbox-exclusiveTell Me Why. Now, a recent update from the development studio reveals it is undergoing a major image change, rebranding its logo, website, and even the spelling of its name.
DONTNOD first teased their newest reveal yesterdaythrough the studio’s Twitter account with the mention of news about the studio to come today, as well as potential teasers of upcoming projects. While the message about the reveal was vague, fans were quick to notice that DONTNOD’s website featured a “Site Under Maintenance” message. Now, DONTNOD has officially revealed its brand-new image featuring a change in the studio’s spelling to “DON’T NOD” Entertainment, as well as new logos and a re-designed website.

DON’T NOD Entertainment officially revealed its new branding Tuesday afternoon, with the company officially altering its name and logos. A short sizzle reel shows off various aesthetic designs for the new logo and name, with a post on the newly re-designed website going more into detail about the change. DON’T NOD explained the re-spelling of its name as a reference to the studio’s drive todifferentiate itself from other studioswith the broken letters referring to a desire to “break the mold.”
Within the update, DON’T NOD also made reference to the adaptability of the logo shown in the video, hinting that the studio has “several upcoming projects to test it out on.” While no official confirmation has been made about a new first-party title, DON’T NOD is acting as publisher for PortaPlay’sGerda: A Flame in Winter,set to launch in September. Members of the studio have also expressed their desire to branch out with new titles in the future as well, not wanting to berelegated toLife is Strangesequels.
While DON’T NOD has moved on fromLife is Strangewith last year’sLife is Strange: True Colorsbeing developed by Deck Nine, the studio has kept busy over the years since.2020 saw not only the previously mentionedTell Me Whybut also DON’T NOD releasing itsfirst self-published game inTwin Mirror. With the studio stepping into its own IPs and now publishing games from other indie developers, DON’T NOD’s new branding will look to usher in a new era for the French studio.
