One of the very first issues players face when trying to build an army of their own inManor Lordsis finding equipment to give to that army. Without swords and shields,a militiais just a group of guys standing in a field.
And if these would-be soldiers want tofend off an invasion of raidersor stand their ground against the army of a neighboring lord, the very first thing they’ll need is the equipment to look the part.
How to Craft Military Equipment in Manor Lords
There are10 different types of weapons and armorpieces players can create to equip their army within the game. All military equipment is manufactured in backyard extensions oflevel 2 burgage plotsby the settlers themselves. There is no separate building where these goods are produced.

How to Use Military Equipment in Manor Lords
Once crafted, any formed militia will automatically pick up the items from the artisansor the Storehouseif the equipment has been transferred. However,Manor Lordsimposes a hard limit on how many military units can be maintained simultaneously.
Players can only have six Militia or Retinue unitsunder their command at any given time. This means that military equipment cannot be used to equip an ever-expanding army to take over the entire map. Once all units under a player’s command have all the necessary equipment,additional gear can only be exported away. This is also why dedicatinga lot of backyard extensionsto military gear is inadvisable, as, eventually, these workshops will bring no benefit to the community other than straight cash.
Military equipment can only be exported after players buy aMajor Trade Routefor them at the Trading Post.
The strongest army players can build inManor Lordsis comprised entirely of Retinue soldiers. Claim six regions and build a Manor in each of the six settlements. Raise each Retinue from the individual Manors to the maximum of 24 allowed per region until you havesix complete Retinues of 24 soldiers each. Upgrade these soldiers' equipment to the maximum. This is the strongest possible army players can build in the game. Of course, letting these soldiers take part in battle to increase their effectiveness will make them even stronger.
