Marvel Snapis running its first holiday event, celebrating Halloween with spooky missions and some valuable rewards. The new card game from Second Dinner, a team made up of ex-Hearthstonedevelopers, launched close to two weeks ago. Yet post-launch support ofMarvel Snaphas hit the ground running, including a Symbiote Season Pass, multiple new areas being released, and now something special for Halloween, too.

Running a holiday event in a game likeMarvel Snapisn’t a straightforward task, funnily enough.Marvel Snapis built for mobile devices, so it’s very streamlined and most of its in-game real estate is taken up by other features. It’s possible thatSecond Dinnercould replace the current season’s interface for Halloween, but with the season ending soon that wouldn’t make sense. As such, Halloween this year is a relatively minor event stuffed into one ofMarvel Snap’s news stories.

Halloween has arrived inMarvel Snapand, for players interested in some in-game holiday cheer, there are some treats to be earned. The event is ongoing with an end date of November 8. Players receive several daily missions, which include tasks like completingDaily Missions, playing decks with certain spooky cards, and collecting cubes. Each mission rewards candy that can be exchanged for special prizes.

The rewards forMarvel Snap’s Halloween event are, somewhat disappointingly, quite limited. There are four “decorations” to unlock with the candy currency, each of which will adorn theMarvel Snapinterface with Halloween cheer. Only after unlocking all four decorations willMarvel Snapplayersreceive a reward they can use. The final reward is 100 Credits, a one-time prize that likely doesn’t match up to the effort it takes to earn it.

There is already a significant amount of criticism being laid at Second Dinner’s feet regarding the Halloween event forMarvel Snap. A prize of just 100 Credits is very little, especially considering the tasks that need to be completed to earn thoseMarvel SnapCredits. On the other hand, having any event and reward available for a holiday less than two weeks after the game launched is worth acknowledging for what it is.

At the very least,Marvel Snapplayers have something Halloween related that they can have fun with. It’s stuck in a weird corner of the game and the rewards aren’t great, but it’s something. Second Dinner will hopefully be able to build onMarvel Snap’s success so far to create even better holiday events in the future.
