Typically,a batch of PS Plus Extra games are removedfrom the service in the middle of every month. Generally speaking, it seems that most of the time, more new games are added to PS Plus Extra than are removed, but there are definitely times when the departures outweigh the new arrivals. Sony hasn’t announced the new games coming to PS Plus Extra in May 2024, so it remains to be seen how this month’s ratio will look, but with 34 games leaving, it’s hard to see how the new arrivals will match them.
A staggering34 games are leaving PS Plus Extra in May 2024, with all the games scheduled to be removed on Tuesday, May 21. 25 of these games were added to PlayStation Plus' “leaving soon” section, while two other titles were discovered by users that ended up on their PlayStation Store pages: beloved PS4 exclusiveHorizon Zero DawnandKingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoningare also apparently going to be removed on May 21.
PS Plus Extra Games Leaving May 2024
There are certainly some heavy hitters leaving PS Plus Extra in May 2024.Horizon Zero Dawnis arguably the biggest departure, but fans will definitely miss theFinal Fantasygames that are being removed as well. May 21 is going to be a bloodbath forFinal Fantasyon PS Plus Extra, asFinal Fantasy 7,8,9,10,12,15, andWorld of Final Fantasyare all going to be removed from the service. This is definitely disappointing, but hopefully some of the new additions make up for it.
Sony has yet to announce the new games coming to PS Plus Extra in May 2024, but more information on that front should come to light within the next couple of weeks. It’s highly unlikely that there will be enough new games to completely replace the 34 titles that are leaving on May 21, but hopefully there are some big additions to help fill the giant voids that are soon going to be left in thePS Plus Extra library.
