The Arboretum is an important room inMetroid Prime Remastered’s Chozo Ruins, as its upper exit is used to reach the Flaahgra boss fight and obtain the Varia Suit. That said, fans must scan a series runic symbols within the room before they can use that exit, and some can be a bit tricky to find. For those players that are indeed having trouble locating some of the runic symbols withinMetroid Prime Remastered’s Arboretum, this guide is here to help.
Metroid Prime Remastered: Arboretum Runic Symbol Locations
Runic Symbol #1
Upon entering the Arboretum, players should navigate to the circular platforms around the base of the room’s central tree. These circular platforms lead to a wooden stick platform that is connected to one of the tree’s limbs, andMetroidfansthat look down from it will see a platform inhabited by red Venom Weeds. Players should fire at those plants to force them to retract and reveal the first runic symbol.

Runic Symbol #2
Before players leave the first wooden stick platform, they should turn around and face the central tree. The second runic symbol is attached to it, and fans should scan it withSamus Aran’s Scan Visor.
Runic Symbol #3
Players should now continue moving upward, using Missiles on the central tree’s War Wasp Hives to stop the insects from spawning. Eventually, this path will lead fans to a section that must be traversed by using the Morph Ball and its Bombs to clear some sandstone blocks, and the third runic symbol is on the wall just past it.
Runic Symbol #4
With the third symbol scanned, players should continue to ascend, passing through another Morph Ball section, to reach the runic symbol door. The fourth runic symbol is attached to the central tree directly across from that door.
Runic Symbol Door
At this point, players should have scanned all four runic symbols, and that will cause the runic symbol door to open automatically. Beyond that door, fans will find a wall that must be destroyed with a Morph Ball Bomb, and the path ahead leads directly to the aforementionedMetroid Primeboss battlewith Flaahgra.
To note, this battle is made significantly easier by using Charge Beam, a power-up that is earned by scanning therunic symbols inMetroid Prime Remastered’s Watery Hall, on the dishes that encircle Flaahgra. Indeed, a single Beam is enough to deactivate a disc if it has been fully charged, considerably reducing the amount of time that Samus has to spend shooting at these devices.

Metroid Prime Remasteredis available on the Nintendo Switch.
