Update 4/30: It has since been confirmed by Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg that the Xbox Series X gameplay presentation will focus on games from “partners” only and not Xbox Game Studios titles. Original story follows.

Microsoft was the first company to reveal its next-generation console, and now it seems it will be the first to reveal its next-generation games. Microsoft has confirmed that fans will get their first look atXbox Series Xgames during a specialInside Xboxpresentation that will air next week.

The Inside Xbox presentation will air on Thursday, May 7 at 8am PT, and it will reveal the first look atXbox Series Xgameplay. Microsoft stopped short of confirming which games it will be showing at the event, but Ubisoft did respond to the announcement tweet with a tease that it could be there. This could be an indication that third-party studios will also be showing their Xbox Series X games at the Inside Xbox event, though that’s just speculation at this time.

Previously, it was rumored that Microsoft would indeed be revealing Xbox Series X games in May, and those same rumors have offered an idea of what fans may see. Arguably the biggest rumor is thatFable 4gameplaywill be revealed at next week’s Inside Xbox event, along with a newForza Motorsportgame, but fans should keep their expectations in check. It’s really anyone’s guess as to what will be shown, as Microsoft itself hasn’t offered any hints as to what will be in store.

WithE3 2020 canceled, one has to wonder if this Xbox Series X gameplay reveal event will feature content that Microsoft was originally going to present at the big show. If so, this event could be hugely significant for Xbox fans, and so they should be sure to tune in.

If the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal event on May 7 is as big as some are anticipating, one has to imagine thatHalo Infinitegameplay will be shown. Rumors have been swirling thatHalo Infiniteis open worldand features a bold new direction for the multiplayer mode, but very few concrete details have been released by Microsoft so far. SinceHalo Infiniteis an Xbox Series X launch title, it would make sense for Microsoft to use it to showcase the first-ever look at proper Xbox Series X gameplay.

With the Inside Xbox presentation just one week away, at least fans have some answers as to when they can expect to see the first Xbox Series X gameplay, even if they don’t know what exactly will be showcased.
