After a long wait,Pixarhas finally offered fans a first look at the upcoming Disney Plus seriesMonsters at Work. Returning back tothe world ofMonsters, Inc., the teaser is filled with furry, adorable monsters who are hoping to get some laughs out. With the series set to premiere in early July, it was time to introduce fans to the new team.
The 30-secondMonsters at Workteaser is a nostalgia-stirring clip that is bound to evoke emotions in a whole generation of fans who remember the adventures of James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski. The iconic duo is back after two decades and they are now in charge of Monsters, Incorporated. In case the fans forgot, they’re not looking for scares anymore, but it’s laughter that they’re after.

TheMonsters at Workseries will pick up after theincidents of 2001’sMonsters, Inc., which saw monsters harnessing energy from humans to power the city of Monstropolis. The company hired monsters who graduated from Monsters University as Scarers. They would access the world humans live in through special doors patented by the company, scare human children, and harness the energy from their screams. However, by the end of the film, the monsters realize that the power of laughter is a lot more powerful.
The teaser introduces Ben Feldman’s Tylor Tuskmon, an eager young monster who has just graduated from Monsters University, whotheMonsters at Worksynopsis previously revealedis one of the main characters. He seems quite surprised to hear that the company is not looking for Scarers anymore, a position he has always dreamed of joining. After discovering the company’s new strategy of making children laugh, he also comes face-to-face with his quirky teammates.
Tylor is a part ofthe Monsters, Inc. Facilities team, or MIFT, and he doesn’t seem to be a good fit. Not only does he have to rely on using his skills to make children laugh, but he also has to work alongside a team of misfits. The MIFT team includes Henry Winkler as Fritz, Mindy Kaling as Val Little, Alanna Ubach as Cutter, and Lucas Neff as Duncan.
Billy Crystal and John Goodman will be reprising theirMonsters, Inc.roles of Mike and Sulley, along with John Ratzenberger returning as Yeti, Jennifer Tilly as Celia, and Bob Peterson as Roz. TheMonsters at Workseries was originally expected to release in 2020, but as with many other projects, it was delayed due to the pandemic.
