AMinecraftfan has shown off their incredible free armor trim generator. Armor trims are just one of many features coming toMinecraft’s upcoming 1.20 update, which promises a wave of new features to freshen up Mojang’s sandbox game.
Minecraft wasfirst released in 2011, and its impact on the games industry remains enormous as it continues to be one of the most-played games across all platforms. Mojang’s continued support for the game has been rewarded by an incredibly dedicated fan community that continues to show its love online for the title. These tributes often make use of the game’s remarkable sandbox, with oneMinecraftfan even creating a working trading card game using in-game maps. The game’s player base is as strong as ever, and so fans online will be paying tribute toMinecraftfor some time yet.

The armor trim generator was created by Redditor jikkinikki, who posted a clip demonstrating how it works. In the footage from website minetrim.com, the user is able to select between individualMinecraftarmor parts, as well as the material and trim on each. It’s a great way to preview the armor trims before actually doing them in-game, and it looks extremely intuitive to use. Best of all, it’s completely free, too. Players continued to provide suggestions for how the site could be improved, with one player suggesting the implementation of enchantment glints. This would add another layer of detail, allowing players to see exactly what their enchantments would look like.
Minecraftfirst revealed armor trimmingin January, with the full version of the feature available in the upcoming 1.20 update. However, early versions of armor trimming can currently be tested in snapshot builds of the game. Armor has been somewhat of an ignored feature ofMinecraftfor a little while now, and it’s good to see it finally receive some attention from the developer. Other than the use of mods, it’s the first time players have been able to ever customize their armor inMinecraft, so it’s a big deal for the community.
Despite the continuing support of the original game,Minecraftcontinues to branch out into other genres to appeal to more gamers. Theupcoming release ofMinecraft Legendsrepresents a step into the action-strategy genre, which is new territory for the series. In the past,Minecraftspinoffs have been well-received by gamers, withMinecraft DungeonsandMinecraftStory Modeboth receiving generally positive reviews from fans. Hopefully Mojang continues to experiment withMinecraft, as it has incredible potential in other genres. The company deserves credit for not taking the easy route and cashing in on aMinecraftsequel, which would almost certainly sell an enormous number of copies.
Minecraftis available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
