Growing crops, collecting resources and taming monsters all come with their own troubles and mistakes. Learning to avoid these mistakes early on is the fastest way for players to improve their experience while exploringRune Factory 5.
10Not Hunting Wanted Monsters
As a member of SEED, one of the player’s duties is hunting down monsters in the wild that have become dangerous. Players can apply for one Wanted Monster poster at a time and then explore the lands surrounding Rigbarth to capture that creature.
These are an easy way to not only earn some extra cash but also learn recipes as completing a Wanted Monster quest can also gift recipe breads for commonly used skills such as cooking, crafting, or even weapon breads. This is a much cheaper way of learning new recipes than buying them from the bakery. However, there are only a few to begin with, as more unlock throughout the story.

9Giving Away Valuable Items
Like Many of these Farming Simulators, forming bonds with the villagers of Rigbarth can be easily achieved bygifting them their favorite things. This can lead to giving out valuable materials that players may need to use later to better improve their own tools, weapons, and armor.
It is better to find cheaper and more easily obtainable items to give to the townspeople of Rigbarth and therefore hoard the rarer resources until later. Players should also remember to remove the item from their hands when talking to villagers to avoid accidentally giving it away.

8Forgetting To Recruit Companions
Once befriending the neighbors of Rigbarth inRune Factory 5, they can be asked along on adventures to help in defeating monsters when exploring dungeons. A total of three villagers can be brought adventuring at a time, and their level will increase while battling.

Continuing to befriend these people will also unlock special skills for them to use in combat, which will better increase their chances of survival during battles. It is important to mention that when bringing along people from the town, players can only haveone monster in the party of four.
7Mismanaging Rune Points
Rune Points, also known in the game as RP, are what the players expend to complete various tasks such as farming, fighting or crafting. At the beginning of the game, players will only be able to complete a couple of tasks a day before the bar is empty, and continuing to smash rocks or water plants will lead to the player losing health.
Forgetting about this risk can cause players to pass out and wake up at the hospital with a pricey fee to pay for being patched up. Eating certain foods can replenish an amount of RP, but cooking this food will also cost Rune Points.

6Exhausting The Soil’s Health
Planting crops on the same tiles of soilover and over can be incredibly damaging to the land, and players may not even notice it. Investing early in purchasing a magnifying glass allows players to examine the durability of the soil they are planting in and therefore avoid damaging the quality of their produce.

The health of the soil will gradually regenerate when nothing is planted on the land, but this risks the level of the ground also reducing over time. Instead of waiting for the ground to slowly revive itself, tilling dead grass into the ground can quickly boost the health or planting specific crops like corn and tilling that can work instead. Keeping the fertilizer bin stocked full of grass or herbs can also keep the land stabilized.
5Fast Traveling
Rune Factory 5expands across a large map that will gradually be explored throughout the story. Walking from one end to another can cost valuable time in the day, and therefore, remembering that it is possible to fast travel is very important.
If in a tight pinch in a dungeon, it is possible to quickly teleport home to replenish supplies and increase health before teleporting back to that level. This cuts down significantly on travel time and avoids players dying in embarrassing ways while attacking challenging foes.

4Assigning Monsters To Field Work
Throughout the story, players will unlock Farm Dragons, here they can produce more crops as well as store their tamed monsters. These monsters have more uses than just producing items to use in various recipes, or helping in battles, as increasing friendship with them will also allow them to complete field work on the Dragon.
Leaving monsters to water the crops meansplenty more timeto spend on other worthwhile tasks like fishing, collecting resources or completing quests, while still letting players earn a profit. Monsters will need to be frequently swapped out with others, as leaving them to conduct fieldwork will cause their health to decrease over days, and then they will refuse to continue.

3Talking To Villagers
It’s the neighborly thing to do to talk to the fellow townsfolk of Rigbarth. Just one conversation a day can increase the players' friendship bar with that person and gradually level up the relationship between them. Having these conversations will also allow players to learn more about the characters, such as what their favorite items are or when their birthday is.

Talking to characters will also help decide if or who to marry from the variety ofbachelors and bachelorettes that live inside Rigbarth. Learning more about these characters can avoid having any regrets on the wedding day.
2Leveling Up Seeds
Although there is a lot of combat inRune Factory 5an essential part of the gameplay is farming, and getting good at it. One way this is done is by improving the level of the seeds that crops are grown from. This is easily missed when players assume to harvest their crops as soon as they are fully-grown, but they are missing on even more of a profit.
When a crop is ready to be harvested instead of picking it, use a scythe to turn it back to seeds, these should be a higher level to the ones that had been planted. Harvesting this crop instead and putting it in the shipping bin will allow players to purchase a higher level bag of that crop’s seed in the future.

1Forgetting To Level Skills
The most common mistake players make is leaving many of their crucial skills behind. Whileweapon skills level quicklyduring combat, many of the crafting skills like chemistry and forging take longer to increase. This can leave many recipe breads to be unusable as the players aren’t the right level to eat them.
Grinding the forging and chemistry skills is crucial in being able to better improve tools for farming and create higher level potions for combat. This can be easily done by wasting lower quality resources on higher level recipes. Simply select a high level recipe, remove the current materials and replace it with a piece of scrap metal or iron, by doing this a couple of times these skills will increase rapidly.
