A seemingly new weekly challenge has confusedModern Warfare 3players:Get 20 Operator Assault Killswith Recommended Guns. The mission is particularly vague in that it doesn’t explain what an Assault Kill is. Consequently, many players interpret the objective as eliminating enemies with Assault Rifles, which is not the case.

What Is an Assault Kill?
In line with past games, an Assault Kill occurswhen a player eliminates an opponent defending an objective. For example, if a player shoots an opponentattempting to re-capture a hardpoint, that action would result in an Assault Kill.
Previously, these eliminations were titled Objective Assault Kills, which is part of why some players are confused. However, the process has remained unchanged, and Operator Assault Kills are granted for purging position-defending enemies.

How to Get Operator Assault Kills
To get an Operator Assault Kill, players will need toexterminate an opponent who’s defending an objective. This includes shooting down enemy Operators re-capturing hardpoints, or eliminating the ones in defender roles in the Control Mode.
Note that the Assault Kill challengenecessitates using specific guns. So, these kills must be achieved with weapons that the game recommends (often ARs orSMGs).

Currently, a weekly objectivegrants players 50 XPfor killing 20 Assault Operators, which contributes tounlocking the WSP Akimbo Brace stock. (The stock allows for dual-wielding the Swarm SMG.)
