A few big names in the community, such as Sabi and PushDustIn, have graced Twitter once again with some more news aboutSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate’s final Fighters Pass contender. One character whose hopes have been slapped down recently is Sora fromKingdom Hearts, who fans had been speculating might be joiningSmash Ultimatesince the game first launched in 2018. This deconfirmation comes from Sabi, @New_WabiSabi on twitter, who has released information on prominentSmash Ultimateleaksin the past. A different leak suggests that Phoenix Wright will also not be making an appearance in the current Fighters Pass, according to a tweet from Hideki Kamiya that was translated by user @PushDustIn.
This isn’t the first time that a number of rumored and alleged characters have beendeconfirmed forSmash Ultimaterecently, as speculation continues to swirl about who will be the next fighter to join the ever-growing roster. It is the unfortunate nature of having so many rumors circling around that not all of them could be true. However, while it doesn’t seem like some of these fan favorites will be arriving any time soon, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are completely cut from being included in the future, either in the next Fighters Pass or a sequel title.
The growing list of characters that fans hope to see joinSmash Ultimatecould be a source of inspiration forSakurai’s next big fighter. So players can still wish and hope and make their voices heard of who they want to join the game in the future, and considering Nintendo’s track record, it may have an effect on the roster in the future. From the way Sakurai seems to always address his creation,Super Smash Bros.is an enterprise from fans and for fans, so if he sees a character start to gain steam in the community, it might make an appearance eventually.
