The feature comes withPUBG’s 12.2 patch, which was just recently detailed by the game’s official Twitter account. The patch will include a lot of new content such as a new 8x8 map, weapons, vehicles, and some new features like aPUBG’s previously leaked self-reviveand the new Comeback Arena. Many fans have pointed out, however, that the Comeback Arena sure sounds a lot likeCall of Duty: Warzone’s Gulag.

For those who don’t know, inCall of Duty: Warzonethe Gulag allows killed players a chance to dual one another with the winner being dropped back into the fight for another chance.PUBG’s Comeback Arena, however, will work a little differently. Firstly, it is only available to players who die in the first Blue Zone phase on the game’s newest map, and it sounds like it will play like a second, smaller battle royale match. All players who die in the first Blue Zone phase will be dropped into a smaller arena where they will have to arm themselves and fight it out for a chance to respawn during the third Blue Zone phase. The patch announcement comes shortly afterPUBGheld a surveyasking players what features they wanted to see added to the game.

It will be interesting to see how the Comeback Arena is received by thePUBGcommunity, especially withPUBG 2rumored to be in development. If features like the Comeback Arena end up being popular, it could very well influence the development of the game’s possible sequel, which could lead to some interesting future developments for the series. Thankfully, fans who want to check out all the new content do not have much longer to wait, as Patch 12.2 is due to release on July 7.

PUBGis available now on Mobile, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
