With content creators getting one finalOverwatch 2preview event, they’re revealing some new and insane things that players will be able to do with the new hero Kiriko. One content creator has combined Kiriko and Zenyatta and the offensive threat it creates is an amazing sight.
Kiriko’s Kitsune Rush ultimate abilitywill grant allies faster movement, fire rate, decreased ability cooldowns, and reload times. But most of that has been left up to the imagination as to what that would look like in-game. Thanks to YouTuber Andrewjrt, fans can get a glimpse of what the Kitsune Rush can do, and the results are insanely and hilariously powerful.

Andrewjrt was invited to one lastOverwatch 2pre-launch server where content creators and journalistswere able to pick through the game one last time before launch. They go through all the Battle Pass rewards and slick new hero menu intros, but the main draw is the opening bit where they use Kiriko’s Kitsune Rush to power up Zenyatta and unleash a powerful volley of orbs.
Clipped by Overwatch Calvary and shared on Twitter, the video is stirring up some intense reactions in theOverwatch 2community from both sides of the spectrum. Zenyatta players and other support players are celebrating Zenyatta having that much relentless firepower as the Orbs of Destruction melt two training dummies in almost the same second thanks to critical hits. As one of the slowest moving heroes and a hero with one of the slowest primary fire rates, the Kitsune Rush gives the peace-loving monk an offensive power trip that would make Soldier: 76 concerned.
On the other side, it’s clear that the lowly Zenyatta having this much offensive capability is going to mean that actual DPS Heroes will have some incredible firepower. There are fears that this ultimate ability is far too overpowered in this state and wouldmakeOverwatch 2feel unbalancedandunenjoyable in its current state. In truth, all the ability’s buffs are contained within the torii gates and the path through them. Like Baptiste’s Amplification Matrix but with an added dimension, placement and timing will be key to countering the ultimate’s power. As with Amp Matrix, the enemy team can simply get out of the line of sight if the map environment allows it.
It’s an amazing clip to watch, seeing Zenyatta’s hands moving and tearing through some bots that quickly after all these years. The Kitsune Rush is likely to create some amazing clips in the future as more players try to combine other heroes with Kiriko to dominate theOverwatch 2Competitive Ladder.
Overwatch 2launches in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on October 4.
