A yearlyOverwatchApril Fools tradition continued this year inOverwatch 2with the addition of googly eyes to various characters in the menu, as well as actual gameplay, though fans might have missed one very well hidden pair located on Ramattra’s weapon. Googly eyes aren’t a new feature forOverwatch 2, as the tradition started with the first entry of the franchise. Although players have come to expect the various characters within the game to be a part of the April Fools gag, the addition of googly eyes to weapons isn’t what players had been expecting this time around.

Blizzard has made thegoogly eyes a yearlyOverwatchgagthat dates back to 2020. Since starting the yearly joke, Blizzard has added the comical eyes to each of the shooter’s playable characters for the entirety of April Fools but has notably refrained from adding the googly eyes to the all characters' weapons. Instead, only certain characters have had the eyes added to their weapons, such as Reinhardt with his shield (on certain skins) and Torbjörn’s turret. Rammatra joins this group of characters, with googly eyes being added to his weapon the void accelerator.

The particular pair of googly eyes in question were added to one Rammatra’s primary weapons, but remain somewhat obscured due to the design of his void accelerator, making them very well hidden. Although this is the first time Rammatra has been around during the April Fools event, given his status as the newestOverwatch 2character, the presence of googly eyes makes the character stand out from the rest of the cast even more.Rammatra is a “dual-form” herorecently added to the franchise, and in his first year he has already been given a unique touch, even if it comes as part of a yearly joke on Blizzard’s part.

Although the addition of the ridiculous eyes only lasts a few days, the characters like Reinhardt or Torbjörn that have their weapons altered in addition to their faces seem to stick out.Rammatra has only been inOverwatch 2since December2022, and he’s been provided with a very well hidden pair of googly eyes usually reserved for more established characters.

Blizzard’s April Fools' changesare a welcome addition to theirOverwatchfranchise, as even if the gag only lasts for a short time, it helps the game stand out from its competitors. Fans can’t help but wonder which heroes' weapons might be given their own secret googly eyes when April Fools comes around again.

Overwatch 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
