Palworldhas shown that it is more than just aPokemonclone with the amount of unique gameplay mechanics and monsters it offers. Although the game has a variety of elemental creatures known as Pals, a particular type is lacking in terms of attack diversity.Active Dragon-type Pal skills, which can be powerful when used correctly, are very limited in number and there are many reasons to justify new additions.
On June 21, 2025, Pocket Pair released a teaser showing off four new Pals to generate more interest inPalworld’s future arena update. Although they have the looks and charms that players would expect from the types of creatures that should be in the game, none of them bear any Dragon-like qualities. The number of Dragon types withinPalworldis severely lacking in terms of skills that match their element. With only four active abilities available to Pals (and two that belong exclusively to particular dragons),Palworlddevs need to introduce more.
The Available Dragon-Type Active Skills for Pals
While many elemental types need to be added toPalworld, the devs should focus on improving the available ones, specifically in the Dragon-type attack department. There are only a handful of active Dragon-type skills available so far:

As limited as this particular active skill type may be, the four available are still exceptional in both power and cooldown time. Nevertheless, given just how little variety there is in terms of power, utility, and cooldowns, there is the potential to include more.
Why Pals Should Have More Dragon Skills
When comparing Pal Elements toPokemonskills, it is clear that the latter has more variety. WithPalworldhaving a total number of 137 Pals, and the possible addition of more in future updates, there are further opportunities to include extra elemental abilities. Pals can access moves that aren’t from their respective element, so adding more Dragon skills can provide players with extra options in terms of team diversity. The extension can also lead to certain Dragon and non-Dragon type Pals seeing more viability.
Also, more active and exclusive Dragon skills could benefit the current number of draconic creatures in the game. With only 14 available, some of them with thebest Pal designs inPalworld, giving them attacks that match their unique features can make them more viable for battle or entrancing enough in a team to warrant capture. The two Dragon skills exclusive to particular Pals, Elphidran’s Mystic Whirlwind and Jetdragon’s Beam Comet, are perfect examples of moves that take advantage of their special character design. Given the unique design of Pals with the Dragon element and the distinctive anatomy of the mythical creature,Palworlddevs can use them as inspiration to increase the limited number of active and exclusive Dragon abilities.
While some Pals closely resemblePokemoncounterparts, they have enough differences that separate them. This is especially true of the types of attacks and how they’re utilized in combat. AlthoughPalworldis definitely behind in terms of the number of creatures, elements, and skill diversity, as opposed to its popular competition, that can all change. So long as Pocket Pair continually improves the game, it has the potential to catch up or exceed its creature-collecting rival.
