This mod is a work-in-progress, meaning not every single area is completely finished, but was released for fans to try out. A video was released in celebration of the mod’s release, which compared how some of the areas looked between the original and with the fog effects applied.
What does BrawlerAce’s Fog Restoration Mod Change in Persona 4 Golden?
Currently, this mod is focused on adding fog tothe dungeons ofPersona 4and the related areas inside the TV world. All the dungeons in the game have received this treatment, aiming to match the PS2 version’s visuals as closely as possible. Other areas such as the tutorial area in the protagonist’s dream, the Velvet Room, and the shopping district have also been overhauled to include the fog. Regular battle and boss battle areas have also been adjusted in the same fashion.
The full goal of the mod, according to BrawlerAce, is to eventually restore the fog to all fields inPersona 4’s explorable overworld. BrawlerAce notes thatPersona 4 Golden’s exclusive Shichiri Beach and Okina City fields will likely be much harder to change, as there are no references to them in the original game. Despite the massive undertaking this mod is, many are happy that it managed to restorethe incredibly timeless look of the originalPersona 4.
