A talentedPokemonfan is receiving attention online from other fellow fans for their impressive art which fuses together the unlikely combination of Wobbuffet and Haunter. While its no secret that thePokemonfandom arguably remains unrivaled in terms of fan art production, the trend of creating renditions of Pokemon fused together has been on the rise - including the unusual pairing of Wobbuffet and Haunter.
A classic dual-type Ghost/Poison Pokemon from the very first generation, Haunter’s spooky jagged design and moveset has kept it a favorite among many longtime fans of the franchise. Wobbuffet is a Psychic-type Pokemon introduced during Generation 2, and has a cyan soft body with almost no sharp edges. Despite never being able to attack first,Wobbuffet is an integral part of Team Rocket, regularly popping up in the anime whether it’s wanted to or not.

The creative piece ofPokemonfusion art comes from Reddit user rc1246, where it has been posted to one of the site’s mainPokemonforums. The drawing does a good job at capturing aspects of both individual Pokemon and blending them into one interesting-looking creature. Blending the pair’s respective colors into a blueish purple, the art keeps Haunter’s hands mostly intact, but otherwise has the main body and facial features as Wobbuffett’s. Haunter’s eyes remain intact however, with them being relocated onto Wobbuffet’s tail.
Despite the creature’s face being predominately Wobbuffet, Haunter may actually have more of a presence than meets the eye. This is due to theweird fact that Wobbuffett’s main bodymay actually be a decoy. According to various Pokedex entries, it is heavily implied the Pokemon’s main body is simply an inflatable decoy, and that its actual body is its small black tail with eyes. This is creatively switched around in the fusion art, with Haunter being relegated to the tail and Wobbuffett being the main body.
While Wobbuffet fan art seems to be a bit more on the scarce side, Haunter fan art runs aplenty. In addition to being fused with Wobbuffet,Haunter has also been combined with Glaliein another recent piece of fan art. Going with a pixel sprite art style, the fan combines Haunter with the Ice-type to create an intimidating fusion, making it almost look like a regional variant.
While somePokemonfans' Haunter fusion ideas are more intimidating than others, any version of the Pokemon would be frightening to encounter in real life. One fan has decided to answer this question, creating aterrifying video of what Haunter would look like in real life. Thankfully Haunter and all of itsPokemonfan-created variants stay in the realm of fiction.
