These entries featured the pocket monster through the evil Team Aqua as they set to flood the world with its power to cause a never-ending downpour. Once their plan is thwarted, the “Sea Basin Pokemon” can be caught and used in battle and contests alike. An artist going by the name of Lilystrations posted this rendition of Kyogre on Reddit for everyone to enjoy. Kyogre’s main colors of red, white, and blue are matched by fellow underwater friends such as Remoraid, Mantyke, Magikarp, and even Seaking. In a similar fashion, one artist designedLanturn as a Legendary Pokemon swimming with undersea fish. The water near the surface allows yellow rays of light to beam towards The Pokemon Company’s killer whale. This blue giant is also shown to be in motion by the direction of many bubbles and body language.
Even as one of themost powerful Legendary Pokemon by stats, this Kyogre is showing a more docile side. The neutral expression and peaceful eyes give it a protecting role near the likes of the lowly Magikarps. Other nearby fish Pokemon also seem unbothered by Kyogre’s presence, as some continue to swim in the same direction.
Fellow Reddit users upvoted the post and left comments of support for this rendition of Kyogre. One person specifically enjoyed viewing the texture of the water, which Lilystrations described as water caustics. Others were happy to just see Kyogre getting more attention from fellow fans of the legendary when so many otherstrong Water-type Pokemon fill the games.
This artwork was hinted by Lilystrations to be just the start of their Hoenn journey. Work of fellow legendaries Groudon and Rayquaza is said to already be complete and will be posted to Reddit at a later date, and other artists are also giving Hoenn some love, with one creatinghuman-like designs of the Treecko family.
