Summary
APokemonfan recently hand-carved an amazing Ivysaur miniature made of wood, demonstrating their love for the Grass/Poison-type creature. Many fans of the franchise are amazing at crafting items based on different Pokemon, ranging from different kinds of miniatures to paintings, and even apparel likecute Eevee-inspired beanies, for example, and this Ivysaur miniature showcases the very high level of craft of the community.
Ivysaur is the evolution of Bulbasaur, one of the most belovedPokemonof the first generation. To this day, Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle remain amongthe most popularPokemonstartersand are fondly remembered by fans. While Bulbasaur evolves to Ivysaur only at Level 16 and then becomes Venusaur at Level 32, this intermediary form is still loved by many gamers who used them in their youth.

Now, aPokemonfan called Samheck shared a short 30-second clip of an incredibly detailed Ivysaur miniature they hand-carved, in which it’s possible to see two phases of the work. The first one starts by showing a yet unpainted wood miniature spinning around. Soon after that, the creator reveals the final result, which looks incredibly detailed and could be easily mistaken for an official product. Samheck’s Ivysaur has all the details of the original design, including the marks on the Pokemon’s skin, and the texture of the leaves on its back. Unfortunately, Samheck did not reveal much information about the process of making the miniature, only saying that it took a lot of patience and practice to achieve this result.
Samheck is not the only fan to recreate Ivysaur as a miniature. Last year, another fan revealed a 3D-printed figure of the Grass/Poison-type creature. ThisHalloween-inspired Ivysaur miniaturegave the Pokemon a curious twist by turning the blossoming flower on top of them into a pumpkin with a scary face. The artist also gave Ivysaur’s green skin for a black one with gray spots and made roots come out of the Pokemon instead of the original vines.
A third fan, however, chose quite a different route when recreating Ivysaur. Instead of hand-crafting a miniature in real life, thisfan created an Ivysaur statue inMinecraft. The digital statue is pretty detailed, as it features not only the Pokemon but also the environment around it, including aquatic plants like water lilies. Now, it remains to be seen what will be the next work to feature the classic Pokemon in all its glory.
