Recently,Mega Evolution finally made its way toPokemon GOwith a new Special Research storyline. Certain Pokemon can Mega Evolve using a rare resource called Mega Energy that can only be obtained via Mega Raids. The faster players defeat the Mega Evolved Pokemon in the raids, the more Mega Energy they will receive post-battle. Once players obtain enough Mega Energy, they can Mega Evolve a Pokemon, and the Mega Energy required to Mega Evolve them in the future will reduce significantly. As with the mainline series of games, players can only have one Mega Evolved Pokemon per battle.
