Legendary and Mega Battle Raids get most of the attention when it comes to PvE battles inPokemon GO, but they aren’t the only type of showdown that offers. Tier 3 Battle Raids exist in the game as well and players who are smart about it can use the lower difficulty battles to stock up on items and encounter rewards withoutexpending too many potions and revives.
Although Tier 3Pokemon GObosses are possible to solo, that is only the case if players understand the boss' weaknesses and assemble a strategic counter roster. EachPokemon has its own strengths and weaknessesand part of preparing for an effective Battle Raid means studying those weaknesses and forming a respectable counter roster. The lower tier Battle Raids can often be solo’d and offer an easier path to completing raid-relates Field Tasks in addition to providing some powerful item and encounter rewards. Trainers who want to use this strategy to defeat Stantler on their own or with a small group will need to assemble a smart counter roster before the fight.

Stantler’s pure Normal-type category gives players just a single weakness to focus on and only one resistance to avoid. That should make assembling a counter strategy fairly simple, though the roster options are a little more limited than when facing a dual pairing. Although tier 3 Battle Raids aren’t as challenging as Legendary and Mega showdowns, trainers may still want to take the time to spend someStardust, Candy, and Elite TMsto get everything in order before the fight.
Stantler Weaknesses
This tier 3 Battle Raid boss is a pure Normal-type, which means thatStantler is weak against Fighting-type moves.
Stantler Resistances (Avoid These!)
Stantler is resistant against Ghost-typeattacks. Players should avoid putting Pokemon reliant on those move types in their lineup.
Breloom - Counter/Dynamic Punch
Cobalion - Double Kick/Sacred Sword
Assembling a counter roster based on those suggestions should be all it takes to defeat Stantler in tier three Battle Raids. Be sure to stick to the recommended counter types and enter the battle with enough allies around to help out and earn that one attempt victory. High level players with the best counters can technically solo this tier three raid boss, but players who want to play it safe shouldenter the fight with one or two friendsinstead to secure a successful battle.
