ARed Dead Redemption 2fan has crafted an exquisite replica of Arthur Morgan’s signature hat, which could easily be a screenshot from the game. It is not the first timeRed Dead Redemption 2has fooled others, with an American broadcast once presenting a screenshot of the title which was submitted to their “out and about” segment and the hosts were none the wiser.
Red Dead Redemption 2released to universal acclaim in 2018 for the PS4 and Xbox One, breaking multiple records in becoming the “second-biggest launch in the history of entertainment,” and later arriving for Windows and Google Stadia the following November. Despite the split release, sales exceeded the lifetime amount for the originalRed Dead Redemptionwithin the first two weeks of launch.Considered exemplary of the artistry of video games, much of this came from the rich, detailed, and intricate open world that Rockstar Games crafted. Strewn throughout the harsh yet beautiful interpretation of the United States' Wild West era, are a variety of hats that Arthur Morgan can come across and collect, but none are as appreciated as his very own.

In a series of images uploaded by Reddit user sarahdeanmakesthings, the craftsmanship and attention to detail on display is astounding, with a version of Arthur’s hat that seems plucked from the game itself. From the shape, dimensions, and the rope tied around the bottom, to the crumples, scratches and worn-out material, comments agree that it is one of the most faithful and accurate renditions seen to date, and impressively took the artist only two weeks worth of work to complete. Entirely “hand sewn from 100% leather,” it is no doubt that the creation has been ahit with theRed Dead Redemption community.
In related news, with Stadia closing down, so goes the service’s version ofRed Dead Redemption 2, which seemed poised to leave one dedicatedRed Dead Onlineplayer without their 6,000-hour save. The media storm that ensued likely aided the recent news that their save would be preserved, andRockstar Games is confirmed to be helping them out. Unfortunately, support for the online service has been declining steadily since launch, and as of last month,Red Dead Onlineseems ostensibly cast aside by its developer.
Rockstar Games, developer of theRed Dead Redemptionseries, was recently victim to a major large-scale hack, which saw around 90 clips of earlyGrand Theft Auto 6footage leaked online, showcasing the currently unfinished state of the game. Although theRed Dead RedemptionIP was not effected in any meaningful way by this hack, reports from earlier this year indicated that a remake could have been approved, if theGrand Theft Autoremasters were well-received. They were panned at launch, for a variety of issues and bugs, likely resulting in apotentialRed Dead Redemptionremake being shelved.
Red Dead Redemption 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
