Early on inResident Evil 3, players may find themselves blocked by a raging fire in an alley. In order tosolve the puzzleand get past this point in the story, the player will need to find a fire hose to attach to the nearby (and conveniently placed) fire hydrant in order to put the fire out for good.
Resident Evil 3never explains how this fire burns on continuously, but thankfully there is an explanation for how to get the fire hose needed to put it out. Finding the hose will require players to navigate to the Subway Control Room area, but getting there can be a little difficult at first.

After inspecting the fire hydrant, severalzombies will knock down a fenceand start pursuing Jill, the first step to finding the fire hose is to head towards the donut shop just past the fence that was just knocked down. Just before reaching the front of the donut shop, hang a right and take the stairs up.
Eventually, the stairs split into two paths. The right path leads to some items and a useful shortcut for later on, but if the main priority is just finding this hose, hang a left. The path from here is mostly a straight shot, passing by zombies and asafe code puzzleuntil Jill reaches the street again. To the right is a pharmacy with some supplies in it, but beware that it is not completely abandoned. Turning left and heading past the crashed red truck will lead to a yellow door.
Enter the building, being careful tododge the zombieshambling around the corner. Instead of going through the blue door, though, turn right to find the fire hose lying on the ground. Navigating back with the fire hose should be a simple task, but keep in mind that some enemies may have respawned. Now would be a great time to use that shortcut leading back to the alley fire. As a reminder, it can be found by going the other way up the stairs just past the donut shop.
After reaching the alley and dodging some zombies, simply select the fire hydrant and use the fire hose with it. This will trigger a cutscene of Jill putting the fire out and allow the player to progress further through the game. Of notein the following room are the bolt cutters, which will allow Jill access to certain locked supplies. It might be worth heading back to the subway control room, as there were a couple locked items there.
