The number of indie films Pattinson has been doing in recent years has shown just how talented he is. There are several moments from the trailer that prove that Robert Pattinson will be the best Batman yet. The synopsis ofThe Batmancurrently is very sparse in terms of detail. Since the film has yet to have been released, most of the story details are up to fans to determine based on the trailer, any released content by the creators, or the comics. Fans know which villains to expect as well as they know what kind of toneThe Batmanwill give off. Although this film was originally meant to be co-written, directed, and acted by Ben Affleck, Robert Pattinson was chosen for the role due to some personal problems Affleck was experiencing as well as director Matt Reeves wanting a younger actor. And having Robert Pattinson star as Batman is looking like it was the best decision that could have beenmade for the franchise.
Robert Pattinson is in the prime of his life and in his peak acting career years. Thanks to his fandom from his roles in blockbuster hits likeTwilight,Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, andTenet, Pattinson will bring in fans from all over the world much easier than Affleck would have been able to. Pattinson has been making a great effort to expand his abilities with the type of characters he plays. He has taken on some incredible roles that must have beenboth a challenge and fun experiencefor him to do. Some of his most memorable recent roles have been in the moviesThe LighthouseandGood Timewhere Pattinson was able to gain experience for his role as Batman by playing these dramatic and serious characters.

Director and writer Matt Reeves has done some other notable work likeThe Planet of the Apesremakes andCloverfield. He also directed and wrote the 2010 horror-romance vampire movie,Let Me In, starring Chloë Grace Moretz. There are a ton of talented actors being brought into this project. Audiences will see the character of The Penguin brought to life by actor Colin Farrell who is no stranger to playing the villain. Farrell also played the antagonist ‘Bullseye’ in the 2003 Daredevil movie. Actor Zoë Kravitz—from movies likeMad Maxand theDivergentseries—will play Catwoman. Andy Serkis (best known from his motion capture work like Gollum fromLord of the Rings) will take on a supporting role.Jeffrey Wright and Barry Keoghanwill also play supporting roles.
The Batmanwill focus on Batman’s earlier years. This is a side of Batman that moviegoers haven’t gotten to see very much of. Reeves said that the masked and caped vigilante will take on more of a detective role, like his comic book counterpart, and go more in-depth into the process of catching a criminal. Batman will resemble some noir-inspired detective characters seen in movies from the 1930s-50s. The film willnot be in black and white, but it does have a sort of gray-washed filter over it (at least in the trailer). From the trailer, Batman appears to be just beginning his ‘career’ as he hasn’t figured out the ropes yet. This could definitely give the movie a similar vibe toJoker, as audiences might be seeing a more melancholy side to the character who is still figuring out how to be a hero.
With all of the amazing actors inThe Batmanand the promise of a younger, less polished version of Bruce Wayne, this is looking like it is going to be a very good story with even better actors. The trailer has a very grungy tone to it paired with some alternative rock music played on top of sneak-peaks at some very impressive action sequences. The movie will be released on Jun 23, 2025, and by that time it will have been almost 17 years since Christopher Nolan’sBatman Beginswas first released, launching a trilogy so popular it made Nolan a household name. But based onthe talented cast and crew, the noir-style trailer, and the rumor of a possible Joaquin PhoenixJokercrossover, this may be the best Batman movie/trilogy yet.
