Yet another potential guest fighter forMortal Kombat 1has been leaked, and they would fit in nicely with some of the franchise’s recent guest stars if this leak is true. After almost two years of rumor and speculation,Mortal Kombat 12was accidentally confirmed during a conference call at parent company Warner Bros. Discovery back in February. Since then, more promotional material for this upcoming sequel has been posted, suggesting that it will in fact bea timeline reboot titledMortal Kombat 1.

There has been much discussion about what this potential reboot could mean for the long-runningMortal Kombatseries, and which characters will appear for the latest round of brutal 2D fighting action. Guest fighters have always been a fun source of discussion among fans ofNetherRealm’s more recentMortal Kombatgames, and some recent leaks have hinted that the tyrannical Homelander from the hit Amazon Prime seriesThe Boysand the anti-hero Peacemaker of DC Comics fame could be the latest in a long line of characters from films, TV, and comics to square off against the likes of Scorpion and Liu Kang.

Now another classic silver screen icon has been hinted forMortal Kombat 1: Conan the Barbarian. Windows Central’s Jez Corden recently discussedthe previously-teasedMK 1guest characterson the latest episode of the Xbox Two podcast (via YouTube), noting that Conan is another name he keeps hearing in rumors. He isn’t sure if the Conan in question is the movie version made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger or one of the comic book iterations from Marvel and Dark Horse, but Corden thinks that the ancient warrior could be included inMortal Kombat 1’s first Kombat Pack.

If this Conan-related rumor is true, it wouldn’t be the first time that Arnold Schwarzenegger has graced theMortal Kombatuniverse with his virtual presence.Mortal Kombat 11featured the iconic T-800 Terminatoramong its assortment of guest fighters, allowing 80s-era movie buffs to finally pit the former governor against fellow big-screen heroes like Robocop and John Rambo. Additionally,Mortal Kombat 10included the Predator, who Schwarzenegger famously battled in the originalPredatorfilm – though Arnold himself was nowhere to be found in that particular entry.

Like any of the other recent rumors surroundingMortal Kombat 1, this latest claim that Conan the Barbarian could be a guest fighter should be taken with a grain of salt until something more official is confirmed. However, given that Conan is a fierce warrior who lives for the kind of bloody battle that definesMortal Kombat, he wouldn’t be too out of place in NetherRealm’s next bone-crushing fighting title.

Mortal Kombat 1is rumored to be in development for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
