Summary
Call of Duty: Warzone’s controversial loot system could be returning back to its roots as a new report reveals that the game is all set to get rid of the backpacks with the integration ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 6. Initial looks atCall of Duty: Black Ops 6suggest that the game could be incorporating features that will mark a major turning point for the franchise’s multiplayer, but it seems like some crucial changes are also coming toCall of Duty: Warzoneonce it launches.
WhenCall of Duty: Warzonewas originally released, loadouts were pretty straightforward. Players could only have a set amount of guns, armor, gadgets, and lethal equipment. The developers added a new feature with the release ofCall of Duty: Warzone 2, as players could also add additional items to their backpacks. This could be anything, from armor plates to ammunition and so on. While the extra items can be saved for later, players can also share them with their teammates, which can be a game-changer. However, there are somedownsides to the backpack mechanic inCall of Duty: Warzone, such as players using it to hoard armor and it being tedious to navigate.

In a new tweet, prominent Call of Duty leaker and dataminer BobNetworkUK reveals some pivotal changes that will be coming toCall of Duty Warzonewith the release ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 6.As per the leak,Call of Duty: Warzonecould go back to its original loot system when the new game is integrated. That’s not all, though, as the Wildcards feature will also be added along the way if the leak proves true, which could significantly shake up theCall of Duty: Warzonemeta.
Call of Duty Warzone Fans Are Divided Over Wildcards Feature
While details on all the Wildcards are not available, the leaker does reveal an interesting one. Apparently, players will be able to have eight attachments on a weapon, which in turn will allow players to have a lot more flexibility with each of the guns . Fans are a bit divided on this feature. Some think that it could make guns fromModern Warfare 2/3much more fun and possibly bring them to a level playing field with the arrival ofnew weapons inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6, though others worry about balancing.
However, the changes to the loot system are something a lot of fans are happy about. While thebackpack system inCall of Duty: Warzonemay have tried to add a strategic layer to the game, most of the time players ended up using it for armor plates, which killed the entire purpose of the mechanic. With the loot system possibly going back to its roots, players will have to be careful about their resource management, making matches more tactical once again.
