Fortniteis now over four years old. Since the game was released, the developers at Epic Games have continued to release new skins for players to purchase from the Item Shop. While some of these skins are original to the game, many others are part ofFortnitecrossover events with other majorfranchises such asStar Wars,Halo, and Marvel. Recently, new details suggest that new content fromSpider-Manmight be coming to the battle royale in the coming months.

An October 12th leak suggested that aSpider-Mancrossover event might be coming toFortnite. Discovered by HYPEX, a content creator andFortniteleaker, this leak provided some details on a potential collaboration between the franchises. In addition, HYPEX claimed that the event could happen by the end of the year.

According to the leaker, a new item codenamed “WestSausage” was found in relation to a new project Epic Games is developing. Based on the info from the leak, HYPEX believed that this codenamed item could mean Web-Slinger, an obvious reference to theSpider-Manseries. In addition, they mentioned that this new item “has swinging mechanics.” The leaker included some of the lines of text relating to the possible new mechanic such as “Swing Attach Location, Swing Detach Time, Swinging, Swing Accelerate, Swing Jump.” It would be interesting to see how this would play out inFortniteas it suggests that a limited-time mode or item could come to the battle royale.

Besides theseSpider-Manleaks,Fortnitehas been introducing other web-slingers to the game as well. Last month, theEddie Brock and Venom skinwas added to the game. In addition, Epic Games recently added mythic weapons toFortnitebased on Carnage and Venom. These weapons let the user shoot a giant tendril of destruction at their enemies. With the Venom skin and these symbiote weapons already in the game, the foundation is there for more skins and items from theSpider-Manfranchise to make an appearance.

Another reason this rumor makes a lot of sense is the upcoming release of a newSpider-Manmovie.Spider-Man: No Way Homeis the next installment in the Marvel series starring Tom Holland. Releasing on June 04, 2025, it will be interesting to see if aSpider-Mancrossover withFortnitehappens around the same time.

It’s worth noting that none of these details have been confirmed by Epic Games. As a result, info leaked by HYPEX could turn out to be inaccurate. However, given the prolific rate at which Epic Games introduces new skins inFortniteand thepopularity of theSpider-Mangamesand movies, there seems a reasonable chance that more content from the web-slinging crimefighter might be coming to the battle royale relatively soon.

Fortniteis available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
