Halo Infinite’s delay was understandably met with some disappointment from Xbox fans.Halo Infinitewas originally planned to be the Xbox Series X console’s biggest launch title, after all. Most fans understand that the delay is for the best and thatHalo Infinitewill be the better for it. Yet the lack of a major first-party release to replaceHalo Infiniteis driving speculation regarding when the FPS will eventually arrive. A recent Amazon listing is only adding fuel to the fire.
The Amazon listing isn’t forHalo Infiniteitself, however. That’s part of why some are taking it seriously since game listings on online retailers are so often unreliable. The listing is instead forThe Art of Halo Infinitebook, a collection of weapon, vehicle, villain, vistas, and more art fromHalo Infinite’s development. The release date listing on Amazon for The Art ofHalo Infiniteis tentatively set for June 13, 2025.

Some are guessing that the release date forThe Art of Halo Infinitemight coincide with thelaunch ofHalo Infiniteitself. To do so, however, one has to make several different assumptions. First, they have to assume thatThe Art of Halo Infiniterelease date is firm, which is definitely possible given Amazon’s typical reliability for book release dates. Second, they have to assume art book releases often coincide with game releases, which isn’t reliable whatsoever. Third, it has to be assumed that Microsoft would be fine launchingHalo Infinitein June of all months.
Needless to say, this rumor is ultimately as reliable as any other retailer listing, if not even less so. There’s nothing to say that this listing has any meaningful tie to the release ofHalo Infinite. For example,The World of Cyberpunk 2077art book was released on July 28.Immortals Fenyx Risingreleases December 3, but its art book The Art ofImmortals Fenyx Risingwon’t be out until late January. There’s simply no reliable trend for when art books are released for speculating a game’s launch date.
For the time being, the only official information aboutHalo Infinite’s release is that it’ll be in 2021. Depending on the scope of343 Industries' plans, that could mean an early 2021 launch or a late 2021 launch. It’s all still up in the air.
The last official word from 343 was that no one should trust anyrumoredHalo Infiniterelease dates. That’s because 343 and Microsoft haven’t even decided on the official release date yet, so clearly no rumors will be reliable. That was said in late September, so it’s possible that’s changed since. But odds are if Microsoft had a release date it would share it publicly. With the Xbox Series X launching in a month, Microsoft’s going to want to get fans as excited for the new console as possible.
