As many know, Pokemon designs draw from all sorts of inspiration. One of the primary elements are animals, but objects, legends, and more all tie intoPokemonas well. This is part of the reasonPokemon Scarlet and Violetfans believe thestarter Pokemon are all tied, somehow, to the story of Don Quixote.

Either way, there are several animals still that do not have related Pokemon. And despite fan desires for a few years now at least, there has never been a Pokemon based on a Dolphin. Perhaps the closest is Gorebyss, but it is more serpentine and based on the long-nosed chimaera than it is a dolphin. According to a recent rumor,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetmay change that.

Many in the Pokemon community are likely familiar with Riddler Khu, who is one of few reliable sources forPokemonleaksin the industry. They’ve been right several times aboutPokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and have leaked several key details aboutPokemon Scarlet and Violet. At least one has already been proven true, which is the design of the new Starters ahead of their reveal.

Now, Khu has posted an image of Neo Spacian Aqua Dolphin fromYu-Gi-Oh GX, which many fans have taken as an indication of a new dolphin Pokemon in the series. It doesn’t necessarily mean that this Dolphin Pokemon will be bipedal, but it’ll be an interesting addition to the series nonetheless. However, fans should take it with a grain of salt until confirmed by Game Freak.

What’s worth noting is that there has been an abundance of newPokemon Scarlet and Violetleaks over the past day or so. Namely, alongside Khu’s leaks, there have been some less reliable sources pumping out tons of details, like supposed screenshots ofPokemon Scarlet and Violetgym leaders and Pokedex details. It’s hard to say how reliable they are, as all of it is pretty scattered, but YouTuber Blaines and another online account Kaka have shared some new details.

Among all of these leaks is the claim that a newPokemon Scarlet and Violettrailer will drop on July 12, showing off more of the map, as well as thesecond form of the Starters' evolutions. The latter seems unlikely. The supposed trailer has not dropped as of this writing, and if it doesn’t by the end of the day, it may render many of the aforementioned leaks as invalid. Not necessarily the Dolphin one, however, as it should be noted that Khu—the most reliable among them—has not said anything about a trailer for July 12.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetrelease on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
