RuneScape 3isnostalgic for many players familiar to the MMO genre. One of its best features is the amount of different character costume options, and the incredible amount of different pets players can collect. Though pets offer no combat bonuses and cannot offer any aid in battle, they are stillwell-designed by Jagex!
Skilling pets are special pets that allow players to show off their prestige and are obtained while training. There are currently 28 skilling pets in total, one for each skillRuneScape 3.Like inPokémon, players can collect all of these pets to earn the “Jack of All Trades” title to show off to other players. This list has ranked all ofRuneScape’s skilling pets by their appearance and details on how to obtain them.

Players should note that skilling pets are awarded randomly. All 28 pets are divided into two groups; either time-based or experience-based. The drop formula for time-based skills is based on how long it takes to complete an action in-game:Agility, Divination, Firemaking, Fishing, Hunter, Mining, Thieving, and Woodcutting.
Experience-based skills areArchaeology, Attack, Constitution, Construction, Cooking, Crafting, Defence, Dungeoneering, Farming, Fletching, Heblore, Invention, Magic, Prayer, Ranged, Runecrafting, Slayer, Smithing, Strength, and Summoning.The higher the amount of experience gained at once in a skill, the higher the chance of obtaining that specific skilling pet.
28Rocky
Rocky is the Mining skill pet, a pun on the adjective rocky. He can be unlocked bymining ores, rune essence, Serenstones, granite, falling stars, and more.
His examine text reads, “Don’t worry, he’s used to people looking at him in ore,” a word pun referring to looking at someone in awe.
27Woody
Woody is the Woodcutting skilling pet. He can be unlocked when cutting trees (including bamboo and crystal), ivy locations, splitting logs, or training Woodcutting at the Clan Citadel.
His examine text references Pinocchio, as it reads, “It doesn’t look like he has said a lie in his life.”
26Smithy
Smithy can be unlocked by training Smithing through smelting bars/corrupted ore, smithing metal bars, and casting the Superheat item magic spell.
Players should note that smithing Protean bars do NOT provide a chance to unlock Smithy.
25Gemi
Gemi is the Crafting pet obtainable via various Crafting methods. Players can unlock her by creating jewelry, leather, glassblowing, or capping at a clan citadel loom.
The word Gemi is Indonesian in origin, meaning “modest lifestyle,” ironic considering she is a walking gemstone.
24Bernie
Bernie is obtainable from training the Firemaking skill. All standard Firemaking methods have a chance of dropping Bernie. Burning Protean logs, however, cannot be used to obtain Bernie.

Bernie looks like an on-fire version of Woody. Upon becoming self-aware that he is on fire, Bernie’s animation will change to him frantically running with his arms up in the arm.
23Ace
Ace is the Hunter skilling pet. He can be obtained by training Hunter in different ways, including Box trapping, Tortle trapping, and more.
His name refers to the nickname given to aviators credited with defeating enemies in aerial combat, hence his eagle appearance.
22Malcolm
Malcolm is the Invention pet, resembling a clockwork firefly. He can be found by training Invention via disassembly, siphoning, manufacturing items, or creating gizmos.
While summoned, Malcolm blinks in Morse Code, translating to “Existence is pain,” which referencesHomestuckcharacterSerenity who is also a firefly.
21Dojo Mojo
Dojo Mojo is the Agility pet. He is earned through training the Agility skill at different Agility Courses around Gielinor. Using silverhawk boots to train Agility passively does not give a chance to obtain Dojo Mojo.
His character design and name reference the main villain inThe Powerpuff Girls, Mojo Jojo.
20Gordie
Gordie is the Dungeoneering pet. He is obtained by gaining Dungeeonering experience through completing dungeon floors and elite dungeons.
His examine text reads, “Forever a noob.”
19Wallace
Wallace is the Defence Combat pet obtained from training Defence skill during combat. He is a grenwall with a helmet and a shield, representing the icon for the Defence skill.
