TheCall of Duty: Vanguardbeta featured a handful of streaks for players to mess around with, and many were happy to see the attack dogs in the lineup. However, it seems there was something wrong with code for the killer canines in the beta, as a clip shows them attacking a friendlyCall of Duty: Vanguardplayer.

Attack dogs are a fan favorite killstreak intheCall of Dutyseries. They played a major role in three Treyarch titles, with their first appearance happening inCall of Duty: World at War. They returned in the first twoBlack Opsgames, roaming the map and hunting down players who attempt to run away. While the RAPS inCall of Duty: Black Ops 3serve as a replacement for attack dogs, their last appearance prior toCall of Duty: VanguardwasCall of Duty: Black Ops 2.

While many players who participated were happy to see attack dogs returning intheCall of Duty: Vanguardbeta, professional player Scump discovered that the hounds were not working as intended. After calling them, the experiencedCall of Dutyplayer attempts to carry on with their gameplay. However, as soon as the attack dog spawns, it kills Scump, shocking the player and bringing an unfair end to their killstreak.

Given how scary it can be forCall of Duty: Vanguardplayersto be hunted by enemy dogs, as they pursue them all across the map, an attack dog suddenly turning on the person who called it in is terrifying. Nobody could have expected the pup to go rogue inCall of Duty: Vanguard, and the bite it takes out of Scump is truly shocking. Aside from being jumpscare worthy, this bug ending a good killstreak so early is disappointing, as the death was completely out of Scump’s control.

Why exactly the attack dogs went bad is unclear, though they did not just attack Scump. His teammates were also killed, with the killfeed saying that each player’s cause of death was suicide. For whatever reason, it seems like the game did not assign the dogs to Scump, so they became a neutral source of death inside the match. Hopefully, this issue is fixed before launch. While theChampion Hillalpha featured a V2 Rocket, confirming that there will be at least one higher streak than Dogs, the canines will surely be one of the most popular ones in the game.

While evil attack dogs may not be on thelist ofCall of Duty: VanguardissuesSledgehammer is fixing before launch, hopefully this clip being so popular will help them realize the problem. While some fun editing and Scump’s reaction make the death hilarious, it is still an annoying glitch that has to be removed.

Call of Duty: Vanguardis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
