There are a lot of great characters in theGod of Warseries. One of the newest characters to be added into the games is Sindri, a dwarf who was introduced in 2018’sGod of War. While he didn’t play that large of a role in the first game he appeared in, Sindri would become a very important character in its sequel,God of War Ragnarok.
Rather than Sindri simply assisting the gods on their quest like he did in 2018’sGod of War, the dwarf actually goes on their journey with them, causing him to undergo a lot of development and memorable moments that have caused him to become a fan favorite. In fact, some of the best scenes inGod of War Ragnarokrevolve around Sindri, especially events that take place in the final hours of the game.

Sindri Revealed A Dark Secret To Atreus
Early on in the game, Sindri and Atreus snuck off from their comrades to go on their own adventure. During their time together, Sindri decided to confess something that happened between him and his brother, Brok, long before the events ofGod of War Ragnarok. Brok had died in an accident at their forge and, not being able to move past his death,Sindri went on a quest to get his brother’s soulfrom the Lake of Souls. While he was able to bring Brok back to life, Sindri failed to retrieve the entire soul.
The other dwarves learned what had happened to Brok and treated both him and Sindri as outcasts, causing them to leave their home and start anew. Sindri never told Brok that he had died or that he only had three quarters of his soul. Feeling guilty, Sindri asked Atreus for advice, who told the dwarf thatBrok should know what had happened to him. This moment shows how close Sindri and Atreus became while also giving fans more insight into the dwarf brothers' past, which was barely explored previously.

Sindri Was There For Brok In The Final Moment Of His Life
One of the characters that joined Sindri and his allies inGod of War Ragnarokwas Odin, who had disguised himself as Tyr to gain their trust. However, once Atreus retrieved all the parts ofthe mask Odin sought, Brok grew suspicious of Tyr’s behavior, causing the Allfather to reveal who he really was and stab Brok. While Brok’s friends confronted Odin, Sindri stayed by his side, being there for him in his final moment.
AsOdin escaped from the heroes, Sindri asked Freya to try to heal Brok with her magic, but no matter how hard she tried, she wasn’t able to. With his final breath, Brok revealed that he knew that this wasn’t the first time he died and forgave Sindri, hoping that his brother would be able to accept his death this time around. Holding onto Brok, Sindri teleported away, leaving his allies behind.

Sindri Turned His Back On His Comrades
When Sindri’s path crossed with Kratos and Atreus' once again, the young god apologized for what had happened to Brok. Sindri refused to accept his apology, however, and gave one of the most emotional speeches in the game. He blamed the gods for bringing Odin into their group, feeling that Brok wouldn’t have died if he hadn’t trustedKratos and Atreus. Sindri also said that despite giving his former friends everything that he had, from his talents to a place to live, the only thing that he got in return was losing his brother once more.
Atreus, wanting to make things right, asked what he could do to help Sindri, but the dwarf revealed that he no longer wanted anything to do with any of the gods he once sided with. Despite wanting to help Sindri, Kratos and Atreus had no choice but to turn away and prepare togo into battle against Odin, as Sindri continued to mourn his brother at one of their forges.

Sindri Avenged Brok By Killing Odin
At the end of the game, Atreus, Kratos, and Freya teamed up tofight against Odin, while an army that the God of War led fought the Asgardians. In the battle against the Allfather, Atreus managed to trap Odin’s soul into a marble. Unsure of what to do, the three gods were hesitant to kill Odin. Sindri came out of nowhere, grabbed the marble, and destroyed it, ensuring that the Allfather would never return.
Sindri then turned toward the gods that he once called friends, but had no words to say to them. Instead, he teleported away, leaving them yet again. While Sindri was still saddened by the loss of his brother, he was able to put those feelings toward ending the life of one ofthe most powerful gods that ever existed in theGod of Warseries.

Sindri Was Seen One Last Time At Brok’s Funeral
After beating the campaign,God of War Ragnarokplayers can go on side queststhat add a bit more to the game’s story. One of these side quests is to attend Brok’s funeral. At first it seemed that Sindri wouldn’t attend as Kratos, Freya, Mimir, and some dwarfs that were friends with Brok waited for him. Luckily, he arrived in time to say his last goodbye to Brok. Sindri took a moment to tell his brother that he loved him before he pushed Brok out to sea, with Kratos' help. Freya and Sindri also worked together by lighting an arrow and shooting it at Brok, burning his body.
Kratos then tried to comfort Sindri, but the dwarf turned the God of War away one last time and left the funeral without saying a word. With Sindri having such a tragic story in this installment of theGod of Warseries, some fans are looking forward to seeing what lies next for him in a future game. Some fans even suspect thatSindri will be an antagonistthat fights the gods who he lost faith in, so perhaps Sindri’s greatest moments in the series have yet to come.
