Slime Rancher 2is a fun, colorful game all about exploringRainbow Islandand catching and raising the wiggly slimes that call it home. The island contains more than just slimes, however. It’s also home to numerous resources that the player will want to collect. Some of these resources are more valuable than others.

One of the most coveted resources early on inSlime Rancher 2isRadiant Ore.This elusive mineral is a key ingredient in purchasing theJetpackupgrade, which makes moving throughoutRainbow Islandmuch faster and more convenient. Finding and acquiringRadiant Orecan be done quickly and easily, but only if the player knows the proper steps to take. Here’s everything the player needs to know about how to getRadiant Ore.
Getting The Resource Harvester
Whereas some resources in the game can simply be vacuumed up off the ground,others are locked within resource nodesand require a special upgrade to get them out.Radiant Oreis one such resource, so the first step to getting it is to purchase theResource Harvesterupgrade. The player can do so by visiting theFabricatorin the lab below theObservatory.Purchasing theResource Harvesterrequires450 Newbucksand10 Cotton Plort,which can either be collected from one’s ownCotton Slimesor found in the wild.

With theResource Harvesterin hand, the next step is to locate thePink Gordolocated on the north side of the starting island. The map will automatically mark theGordo’slocation once it’s discovered, so if the player has already done some exploring, it will be easy to retrace their steps.Gordosare a special variety of slimes that explode when overfed, so the next step is to feed theGordountil it pops. Explosive overeating may seem excessive forsuch a wholesome game,but at least it’s handled in a cutesy way. Thankfully, thisGordois pink, so it will eat any fruit, meat, or vegetables the player cares to shoot its way.
How To Get Radiant Ore
When thePink Gordoexplodes, a geyser will be revealed beneath it. Step on the geyser and ride the spray of water to the ledge above, then press the button found there. Doing so will activate a column of light that allows the player to teleport toEmber Valley,leaving the ranch behind.

The player’s mission is almost over, as the valley is whereRadiant Orecan be found. Unfortunately, its spawn locations are RNG, so the player may have to do a bit of searching until they can find it, andthere may be dangerous slimesin the area. The resource node containing the ore is a gray rock with rectangular purple crystals sticking out. Using theResource Harvestersucks theRadiant Orefrom the node, so make sure there’s an empty tank to hold it.
TheJetpackrequires450 Newbucks, 10 Phosphor Plort,and10 Radiant Oreto unlock, so the player will need to find several resource nodes in order to harvest enoughRadiant Oreto craft the upgrade. If the player is having a hard time finding the remaining ore, they can always leave, pass some time back at theObservatory,and wait for fresh resource nodes to spawn. Alternatively, the player can pay a visit toStarlight Strand(accessible through anotherGordofound on the starting island), asRadiant Orealso spawns there. With that done, there’s nothing left to do butget back to some relaxing exploration.
