A limited edition burger is soon sliding onto Burger King’s menu to mark the arrival ofSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. While the film premieres in theaters on June 2, the exclusive red and black Spider-Verse Whopper will be available from May 15 to June 21. For those with a sweet tooth, a Spider-Verse Sundae will also be available for a limited time.Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseis the much-anticipated sequel to 2018’sSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The original film introduced Miles Morales to fans, bringing his comic book version to life through animation. Since the film’s release, Morales has gained mainstream popularity and has even been awarded a standalone video game adaptation titledSpider-Man: Miles Morales. The rest of the toppings remain the same, including the beef patty. However, the chain encourages people to customize their sandwiches and offers “nearly as many combination possibilities as there are Spider-Verses.” The Spider-Verse Sundae also follows the same color theme and will be topped with “black and red chocolate popping candies.”
The fast-food restaurant chain also shared a cryptic message on its social media channels with the words “coming soon” written upside down. A video accompanying the message shows the Burger King logo changing colors from its traditional red, white, and orange to a stark red before slowly transforming into the symbol on Morales' suit. It seems like Sony is going the extra mile to promote the upcomingSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseand building hype around the film following themassively successfulSpider-Man: No Way Home.
In less than a month,Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versewill hit theaters, and at this point, there is speculation on whether the film will cross over with the Spider-Men of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
