How to Get Ability Chunks in Splatoon 2
Scrub Gear from Murch the Sea Urchin
One of the best ways to get Ability Chunks is by scrubbing gear. To scrub gear, players will need to talk to Murch.Players can order gearfrom Murch and get their gear scrubbed.
Murch is located next to the online lobby building.
Scrubbing allows players to get Ability Chunksby scrubbing off a gear’s secondary abilities. Players can get 20,000 Ability Chunks. If players have low-level gear they do not need; they can get Murch to scrub them for Ability Chunks. For this reason, players are recommended to buy gear to earn Ability Chunks.
Play the Salmon Run
The Salmon Run allows players to come together to play and collect eggs. The better a player performs, the greater their Grizzco Point earnings. Players may also earn Green Capsules with Ability Chunks.
A Green Capsule has a 40% chance of dropping two Ability Chunks and a 10% chance of dropping four. Shiny Green Capsules will reward players with four Ability Chunks. However, if the player gets neither reward, they will get Pink Capsules, Showcased Gear, or 4000 cash.

If the player gets gear they own, they can get Ability Chunks or cash. It is worth noting the player will only get Ability Chunks if the gear they acquire has filled slots. In most cases, the gear obtained has empty sub-ability slots.
Rerolling Gear
Players can also get Ability Chunks by rerolling gear. How this works is that it converts previous sub-abilities into Ability Chunks. Unfortunately, this method is unreliable, as players will be better off scrubbing gear.
Players can use Ability Chunks to craft gear to their liking, the kind that complements their playstyles. With the right gear, players can win consistently and without any hassles.
