Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderstars Cameron Monaghan as Cal Kestis, and Monaghan has earned quite a bit of praise for his performance in the game. However, some fans have moddedStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderto change Kestis' appearance, including swapping out his red hair for brown or black hair. Monaghan reacted negatively to one of these mods, which has stirred up a bit of controversy on Twitter.

Responding to a Kotaku article about aStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Ordermod, Monaghan said, “Gotta love that there are insecure dudes out there who can’t handle playing as a redhead. Seriously, ginger hate is still a thing? We’ve gotta be one of the only groups left where it’s not taboo to s*** on us for being born or looking a certain way, right?” Monaghan followed that tweet up with a tweet about theSouth Parkepisode that made fun of “gingers,” but has since deleted both of them.

Members of the press categorized Monaghan’s tweets as “lashing out” atStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Ordermods and “ginger hate.” Monaghan has responded to these articles, explaining that he is “not heated” or “upset.” He said that he “tweeted jokes about red hair while eating a taco.” Monaghan described some of these articles as “clickbait.” Monaghan has since deleted some of the tweets where he criticized the press.

The tone of Monaghan’s original tweets definitely seem serious, and so it’s understandable why some journalists labeled them the way they did. It’s possibleCameron Monaghanis being honest when he says he was joking, but it’s also possible that he regrets the tweets and is doing damage control. It’s also unclear why Monaghan has deleted some of the tweets while leaving others up.
