Like all villagers in the game, Sam has a shifting schedule that changes with the seasons as well as possesses different tastes in gifts. The ideal way to win him over is to present him with the material goods that he loves the most.
Sam’s Schedule For Every Season
When one is looking for a particular NPC, it can sometimes be tricky to track them down, as they all have different lives full of varying interests, hobbies, and jobs. Spring and Summer are the most diverse in terms of schedule, so it may be more convenient to get closer to Sam in the Fall or Winter.

What Kind Of Gifts Sam Loves, Likes, Dislikes, & Hates
The Best way to level up one’s relationship with Sam, and any other villager, is to give them things that they like or love. While blatantly seeming like one is buying Sam’s affection with these gifts, attempt to remember that it is the thought that counts in Pelican Town, and knowing what someone is fond of shows that the player is in tune with their needs.

What Happens After You Marry Sam
After the player has given enough gifts to max out their relationship level with Sam, they will be able to marry him. After marriage, Sam’s schedule changes as he now will be focusing on being with the player a lot more than before.
He moves into the farmhouse with the player and sets up his bedroom next to theirs so that he can always stay nice and close. Sam will also set up a halfpipe behind the farmhouse where he will sometimes be found practicing his skateboarding tricks.

It will also become possible to receive gifts from Sam on rainy days and nights, such as a Cactus Fruit, a Coconut, an Earth Crystal, a Geode, or a Pizza. When Sam isn’t doing tricks on the halfpipe around back, he can sometimes be found in the farmhouse and will on occasion gift the player with some Pancakes.
