These distinct variations will be noticeable from the moment playersland in New Atlantisand discover the differences in the Lodge, and the people within.

Spoiler warning ahead forStarfield.

How To GetStarfield’s Alternate Variations

Players need to proceed through to the end mission inStarfield, where they are given the choice of using the Artillery and traveling to the Unity. From here, they want to proceed, and become a Starborn, starting a new adventure in a brand-new universe. However, sometimes, this universe is unlike their original, and players will see some strange differences uponentering the Constellation’s home baseof the Lodge.

Players cannot force these universes without the use ofStarfieldconsole commands, so the remainder of alternate universes is completely based on RNG, meaning players have a rare and random chance of encountering these universes. However, some players have reported bugs where they cannot access their inventory or create a save once in these alternate universes. Either way, here are all the alternate variations inStarfield:

Traveling to the Unity in Starfield

Constellation Of You

By far the wildest of the alternate universes inStarfield, the players will find themselves in the Lodge with 6 versions of themselves ready to greet them. All of these versions of the player character are Starborn, and they introduce themselves as the different factions they joined: Constellation You, Crimson Fleet You, United Colonies You, Ryujin Industries You, Freestar Collective You, and Loner You. The player is dubbed New You and asked to join this reforging of Constellation.

In this universe, the player characters have decided that this rare occurrence should be treated as a sign that they should stay, so they decide that Constellation sounds better with 7 identical people. However, players can’t do much here, other than receive a parting gift of the Artifacts and decide to find a universe where there are not multiple versions of themselves. However, players can talk to these versions of themselves to learn about their personalities and universes.

Sarah Morgan The Plant

When rushing back to the Lodge, players will find that Sarah Morgan is… a plant. It’s odd, and entirely not out of the field of possibility with alternate universes. However, as players go to talk with the Sarah Morgan plant, Noel will interrupt and ask what the player is doing, completely concerned by this strange behavior.

Noel informs the player that everyone at Constellation has retired and gone on to do their own thing, but since the player is a Starborn, Noel will excitedly give them the Artifacts that Constellation found before they disbanded for good.

Meet Yourself

Everything seems normal in this universe, and all Constellation members are gathered around the library to look at the Artifact pieces. However, there’s one key difference: the player character is already here, the Argos Miner version. Players can talk to themselves and even recruit this younger and more inexperienced version of themselves for adventures, providing themselves with these skills for the crew:

It’s a great idea to take this new universe player character on the adventure of a lifetime, as players can talk to this character, learning new things about them, whilst being asked questions on their universe and life. It’s a fun dynamic and adds wild possibilities into the infinite universes ofStarfield.

Cora Coe, Vengeful Starborn

A new Starborn holds the Lodge in their grasp, along with some mercenaries. When players approach to talk to this Starborn, they reveal themselves as none other than Cora Coe, the grown daughter of Sam Coe. She has spent years, if not decades or more, traveling through universes as a Starborn to try and find the player that she blames for her father’s death.

If players save Sam Coe in their universe, then Cora Coe will begrudgingly let the player go. However, if the player has played a part in a universe where Sam Coe died as the companion, then Cora will fight the player for revenge. Players must kill her to defend themselves, and to take the Artifact pieces that Constellation left behind in Cora’s invasion.

Evil You

Upon entering the Lodge, everything is in disarray. The furniture is in ruins, and a scuffle has definitely broken out. Upon opening the doors, they will see Sarah Morgan on the floor, clutching her wounds. As she lies dying, she shouts at the player, calling them evil, and the murderer of Barrett. No matter how much the player pleads that this was not their doing, Sarah dies with hate in her heart for the player.

There’s no time to mourn, as a Starborn will appear behind the player, and reveal themselves to be an alternative version of the player character. This evil version of the character needs to be killed, and the fight for the Artifacts is on between the two protagonists, one evil, and one less than so. Once the evil version of the player character is dead, players canaccess their inventoryto take the Artifact and find a universe where everyone lives.

The Hunter Strikes Back

The Lodge appears empty in this universe, but players will quickly see a Starborn decloak their camouflage before the player. This Starborn is none other than the Hunter, who lets out an ominous chuckle upon seeing the player visit the Lodge. The Hunter has killed the members of Constellation, but instead of fighting the player, they decide to hand over the Artifacts.

The Hunter is happy with this change in structure, as this is the first time this has happened. The Hunter loves the fact that the player’s entry as a Starborn has made new opportunities and universes, and leaves, knowing they will happily see the player again once more.

Walter Stroud’s Big Sale

A Constellation member has gone rogue, and this universe presents Walter Stroud as a man with an eye for opportunity and money over that exploration and answers. In the Lodge, players will find Walter, along with a group of Ecliptic Mercenaries that he has hired for his protection. He will inform the player that Constellation went bankrupt years ago, and he bought what was left, including the Artifacts they possessed.

Walter has received these gifts of knowledge from a Starborn version of himself, and this version of Walter Stroud will sell the Artifacts to the player for 100,000 Credits. Players can either pay the fee or kill Walter and the Ecliptic Mercenaries. Either way, it’s probably a good idea to leave this universe behind for something that doesn’t feel like a business transaction.

Children’s Clubhouse

Another bizarre entry into the many universe-hopping adventures, players will find that Constellation are now children; or so they thought. As it turns out, Constellation has long since abandoned the Lodge and disbanded, thus leaving the prestigious location as nothing more than a clubhouse for children that love to play pretend and act as the Constellation members like Sarah Morgan, Noel, Barrett, and Sam Coe (without the hat). The children take turns in playing their roles, until the player arrives, which they view as the Last Member of Constellation.

Thanks to a slate of instructions from Sarah Morgan, the children have waited for the Last Member in order to give them the slate and the Artifacts that they have found abandoned here. They view the Last Member as a prophecy, someone who will help unlock the secrets of the universe, but for the Starborn who finds this place, it’s best to just leave and find a new universe.

Andreja’s Great Serpent Take Over

Things take a sinister turn in this universe, as Andreja can be found in the Lodge along with House Va’ruun Zealots. For those that have completed her companion quest, they discover that she waspart of House Va’ruun, and was sent as an undercover agent to Constellation to learn their secrets. In this timeline, it seems that Andreja has stayed loyal to Va’ruun and the Great Serpent that they call God, and she has killed every Constellation member, except the player.

Once the player arrives, there is no way to intervene and get Andreja to see them as a friend, since this isn’t exactly their Andreja. Instead, players will be forced to fight the Zealots and Andreja, to steal the Artifacts off of her body to find another universe. If players have the Serpent’s Embrace Trait, Andreja won’t be hostile, but it’s not worth sticking around to find out.

Just Vasco

In this timeline of events, the Lodge is empty, with all but Vasco remaining behind. Vasco explains to the player that all members of Constellation were hunted and killed by the Hunter, but the loyal robot managed to hide all the pieces of the Artifact. Vasco escaped the Hunter and has been waiting for the last living member of Constellation to come home so that they could take the Artifact and continue the mission.

Players can’t embark on an adventure with just Vasco and themselves, as Vasco will stay put in the Lodge, and decide that someone must watch over the Lodge and its legacy, therefore players have to embark on their Starborn journey without a companion, hopping to a new universe in the hopes of finding home once more.

Normal Universe

If all odds remain the same, then players might be able to enter a universe where nothing is different in the slightest. Players can embark on a journey to a new universe, one where they are the only version of themselves. In this universe, players can head back to the Lodge to reunite with Constellation, except, they won’t have the slightest clue on who the player is. Players can then explain the story of the Starborn and the Unity to them, and it will be a lot for Constellation to take in.

After this, players either have the choice to start through the main story, or skip it to collect the Artifacts and be on their way. However, if players want to stay in this universe, then they have to live with the fact that this is not the same crew as their original universe, and they are nearly identical copies, except, they know that the player is a Starborn, and not exactly human anymore. Nevertheless, this does not affect relationships, so players who want totry their hand at a romantic partneror a new companion are in luck.
