Best Ways to Get Credits in Starfield

The first main Credit-making method is throughsimple questing. These aren’t the fastest way to make money, but they are often the most fun, engaging, and rewarding.Starfield’smain quest is very generous when it comes to payouts, but there are alsoa ton of sidequeststhat give just as many Credits if not more.

Some quests will lead players to places that are brimming with loot and cash. TheFailure to Communicatequest in the Jaffa System, for example, features an assault on a Spacer base that has four safes containing about 16k Credits total — this job alone can net players over 22k Credits from monetary compensation and even more if they decide to sell the loot they earn.

Faction questsalso offer tons of Credits for players who want to pledge their allegiance to either the UC, the Freestar Collective, Ryujin Industries, and so on. These three are particularly profitable if players decide to take their respective Allegiance Traits during Character Creation. Thesefactions have full-blown quest lines, so they’re guaranteed to be more interesting than some other money-making methods.

Job Boardsare great if players want to earn some extra cash on the side. Cargo delivery jobs are especially profitable as they usually involve fast traveling from one point to another. Individual jobs don’t pay that much, but earnings will add up over time, resulting in a ton of Credits earned per hour.

Lastly, players can always resort tocrime.Steal goods, raid cargo ships, or smuggle contraband past planetary scanners to earn a real killing for relatively little effort. Of course, people of the universe won’t take kindly to criminal actions, and some Constellation memberswill outright disapprove of any and all roguish behavior. Still, it’s an option to consider.

Outpostscan also be turned into passive sources of income, but these usually involve an initial investment and the payment of operating expensesfor any crew members manning them. Once players earn enough Credits, they can make a self-sustaining outpost that can fuel their financial needs.
