With so manyOverwatchmatches taking place every day, it is no surprise that gamers are consistently stumbling upon weird moments. A recentOverwatchclip shows one such oddity, with a D.Va player being teleported unexpectedly after using their Ultimate ability.
To be fair, this is hardly the onlyD.Va glitch that has appeared withinOverwatch. In the past, fans have seen the hero get stuck in the sky or thrown out of Eichenwalde. Further, her Ultimate has killed players that were behind cover, and for a brief period of time, Blizzard even disabled her because she was invincible. While the latest D.Va glitch discovered by theOverwatchcommunity is hardly as bad as the invincibility bug that led to her briefly being disabled, the video is still interesting and worth a look for fans of the hero.

The bug in question was shown off in a clip from Reddit user FaeMain. It begins with some normal D.Va gameplay onLijiang Tower. At the start of the clip, FaeMain can be seen blocking bullets with Defense Matrix and launching some missiles at a few enemies like D.Va players will do in every match. She then flies straight at the group before turning her mech upward and ejecting from it due to her Self Destruct. However, this is where the bug comes into play, as the D.Va does not fall anywhere near her mech.
For whatever reason, the Redditor is sent back to their spawn, finding themselves in the ship withOverwatch’s basketballs. While this would normally be frustrating, as it pulls the D.Va out of her fight so that she can’t assist her team, her mech clearly did not glitch out at all. As shown in the kill feed, the explosion managed to take out a few enemies near where the D.Va left it, which gives the D.Va player time to regroup with their team. Ultimately, this makes the bug harmless, though it is very interesting.
As for why the D.Va was teleported, a theory was shared in the comments. As shown in the clip, D.Va flies right up to the ceiling before activatingSelf Destruct. According to king_zulufo, D.Va probably fell into the ceiling after she was ejected from the mech, which saw the game finding a solution since D.Va was in an unintended location. Instead of killing the D.Va, she was sent back to spawn. This theory checks out, providing a solid answer for the 4,300 players that upvoted this weird footage.
With D.Va proving to be quite strong intheOverwatch 2beta, players will be seeing plenty of this Tank going forward. Hopefully, any glitches tied to her mech and the eject functionality will be solved before the new game releases.
Overwatchis available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
