Ranged weapons in the previousTactics Ogregames were extremely powerful. Bows in particular were easily the best weapon type in the game.Tactics Ogre Rebornhas, however, made some changes to the meta, balancing all weapons types and giving each of them their niche and uses.

Ranged weapons aren’t as strong anymore, but they’re still very good, and necessary for some maps and for certain types of enemies. With the increased difficulty in this game compared to previous iterations, playershave to think more strategically, and ranged weapons often help with that. From crossbows to the lobber and everything in between, this list covers the best ranged weapons in the game.

7Petridart Blowgun

Blowguns or blow-darts can be sued by Ninjas, Beast Tamers, and Denam in his Lord class. While blowgun stats aren’t that good at all, they’re all one-handed allowing players to equip weapons or shields along with them. Blowguns have very solid utility as well. The petridart is effective against reptile units and has a chance to petrify a unit on-hit, rendering them completely useless for several turns.

6Ysaar

This is a special crossbow found in the game’s post-game content. The Ysaar can be found in thePalace of the Dead, on or around level 70. It’s a droppable weapon boasting terrifying stats and has inherent augment air stats.

This can complement units such as Canopus very well. If players are willing to grind the Palace, this bow can be a very solid addition, and helpful if used on reruns through the different routes of the game.

5Garuda Bow

While bows have definitely been nerfed in this game, they’re still essential for picking off squishy mages and healers that can be a menace to a player’s frontline. Moreover, some of the best units in the game have easy access to bows and high weapon ranks, such as Vyce, Arycelle, and Canopus. Their stats can complement bows well.

One-handed bows players can find later in the game such as the Garuda bow are significant. Not only do they have all the stats and traits of a two-handed bow, but they allow units to equip other one-handed melee weapons as well, such as a dagger or a one-handed axe or mace. This can be a devastating combo on vartans that can traverse through the maps with ease and pick out the backline.

4Baldur Bow

This bow is on the list for its utility. It’s cheap, does not require a high weapon rank to use and it’s readily available. While the Baldur Bow’s stats are solid, they don’t hold up to many of the late-game bows. It does, however, have the benefit of being one-handed, so players can equip other weapons along with it.

What makes this bow good is its forged upgrade. Along with boosted stats, the Baldur Bow +1 has the chance to silence enemies on-hit, essentially rendering spell-casters of all sorts and clerics completely useless. It also delays the spells and finishers other units use. Coupled with this impressive perk, the Baldur Bow has additional damage against Golems, and a massive +50% damage against phantoms, making it useful inthe late gameas well.

3Dasmasc Crossbow

Crossbows are always slightly underrated when compared to bows in SRPGS.Tactics Ogreis now different, but these weapons have their uses as well. Shooting in straight arcs can be helpful in difficult terrain situations, as is their inherent armor penetration.

The Dasmasc Crossbow is really good not only because of its exceptionally solid stats and easy availability but it can also be forged, making it even better. After forging it gains additional damage to golems, which are the tankiest beasts in the games. It also has a chance to stun on-hit, making this a very solid tool for any player’s arsenal.

2Musket

Fusilsare unique weapons. They’re not as powerful as crossbows, nor do they have the range of regular bows, but they’re fast and have the best ranged finishers in the game. Fusils can only be used by Buccaneers, Fusiliers, and in some cases Rangers, so not only are they quite limited, only some of the best characters in the game have access to them.

The musket is a very solid weapon. It’s easily available and players don’t need to grind the post-game to get it. Additionally, it can be forged. A +1 musket grants crazy good stats and really high piercing damage. Moreover, it can knock back targets, making it very useful against stubborn enemies.

1Lobber

The Lobber is thebest ranged weaponin the game, and it is not even close. This might seem a strange statement, but it’s true, and the more a player plays the game the more they’ll agree. Lobbers let players “lob” items over the battlefield. This can help out low-hp units that are stuck far away from healing sources. Buffs and de-buffs can also be lobbed, and this is critical.

The bosses inTactics Ogre Rebornare very strong. De-buffs can be essential, inflicting breach, stun or silence can completely change the landscape of a battle. Players can go from thinking about giving up and grinding to immediately seeing the path to victory. Lobbing a dynast-king mead onto a boss such as Hektor or Martym can make them more reasonable to deal with and reduce the casualties on the player’s side as well.
